Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 Launches December 20 for PS4 & PS5

The first chapter of the hit puzzle horror adventure, Poppy Playtime, is finally coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Mob Entertainment shared the exciting news via X, detailing that the PlayStation versions will be fully available on December 20th in the Americas and Asia, with Europe launching later.

Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1 made its debut on Steam for PC back in October 2021. Later on, the game launched for Android and iOS on March 11, 2022. It garnered positive reviews, owing to its engaging gameplay mechanics, intriguing story, and remarkable character design. It was even compared to the popular Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, particularly the Security Breach installment.

In Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1, players will step into the shoes of a former employee of Playtime Co., a once toy manufacturing industry giant. After receiving a letter from the staff who were thought to have disappeared 10 years ago, players embark on a journey to unravel the secrets of the abandoned factory, encountering vengeful toys, including the ominous blue stuffed creature known as Huggy Wuggy. Equipped with the handy GrabPack to manipulate electrical circuits and seize items from a distance, players must navigate the eerie facility and try to survive while discovering VHS tapes that delve into the history of Playtime Co.

Following the first chapter’s success, Poppy Playtime: Chapter 2 was released on May 6, 2022. The franchise expanded further with the introduction of a free-to-play multiplayer survival horror spin-off titled Project: Playtime in December 2022. Currently, fans await the next chapter, ‘Deep Sleep,‘ which is still in active development and expected to launch in early 2024.

As Mob Entertainment introduces its popular horror franchise to PlayStation consoles with Poppy Playtime: Chapter 1, it is very likely that Chapters 2 and 3, as well as Project: Playtime, will also be available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 soon. However, Mob Entertainment has yet to make an official announcement regarding their availability on the PlayStation platform in the future.
