Blossom through the Sims 4 Bloomful Challenge by giving Henford-On-Bagley the makeover it deserves, petal by petal.

Basic Rules

A Sim is dirty and sad because they have no money or job at the start of the Odd Money Legacy Challenge for The Sims 4

Each heir has a different way of making money for this legacy challenge. Your Sim may sell their creations using the inventory, market tables, or on plopsy. At the start of the generation, your Sim must start with zero simoleons, following a rags-to-riches style. To achieve this, you must first enable cheats, then type freerealestate, move your sim in, and type “money 0” into the cheat bar.

If your Sim has a partner move in with them, they must quit whatever job they have and make money the same way the heir does; however, your Sim does not get to inherit the partner’s money. Use a random number generator or a die to determine how much of their wealth you can claim. For numbers between one and four, your Sim is out of luck. They may not receive any money from their partner. If you roll a 5, your Sim can receive 5% of their partner’s wealth and 10% if you roll a six.

Keep the random number generators or dice close because you’ll use them again to determine the number of children each generation must have. For example, if you roll a four, your heir must have four children. You can also use a custom wheel that determines whether their children join the family through childbirth, adoption, or as science babies. To choose the heir for each generation, you may select the Sim who best fits the roles of the next generation or leave it up to chance.

Generations

Below, you will find the rules and requirements of each generation. There are two variations you may choose from, but each must follow the same path. Pay close attention to required personality traits, objects, and aspirations, and abide by quirks for an added challenge. Some of these generations require specific DLC. If you do not have these packs or the means to purchase them, the creator of the challenge has listed alternate options.

Generation One: Stealing

An evil Sim has the kleptomaniac trait and can steal things from other households

  • Variation One: ONLY steal from public lots
  • Variation Two: ONLY steal from private lots

Starting off with a bang! The founder of this legacy starts with nothing but the clothes off of their back. They resort to making money by stealing. As a kleptomaniac, your Sim has no problem “borrowing” money and objects from other Sims. They aspire to complete the chief of mischief aspiration, which requires them to master the mischief skill and pull pranks on many Sims.

The Sims 4: How To Make Money (Without Resorting To Cheats)

In order to get anything done in The Sims 4, players will have to find a way to make some money. Here are some of the best ways without cheating.

For this generation, the quirk is that your Sim must start with only one basic outfit per category. With a bit of imagination, your Sims can steal clothing and recreate outfits from those they steal from.

Generation Two: Carpentry

A Sim is using a woodworking bench to craft something and the handiness skill icon has been added to the photo

  • Variation One: ONLY craft furniture
  • Variation Two: ONLY craft sculptures

Embrace a more honest way of earning money in the second generation of the challenge. This perfectionist Sim has learned to transform their hobby of woodworking into their livelihood. First, find creative ways to make simoleons and save up for the woodworking table (§750). They should also work on completing the nerd brain aspiration. To do so, work on the logic skill and master the handiness skill to work on a rocket ship.

The quirk of this generation is that every furniture item in their home must be hand-crafted if possible. This includes tables, chairs, mirrors, shelves, bathtubs, and toilets.

Generation Three: Fishing

A Sim is fishing in Oasis Springs and the fishing icon logo is added to the photo

  • Variation One: Migrate to different fishing spots
  • Variation Two: Keep the first of every fish type

Fishing can be a relaxing and rewarding hobby, even in The Sims 4! Your Sim for this generation embraces the grind of fishing for profit. This Sim is a bro, the kind of bro whose Simstagram and dating profile is filled with pictures of them fishing. Speaking of dating, they must flirt with anyone they see at fishing spots until they meet their long-term partner. This is the fishing generation’s quirk.

Complete the angling ace aspiration. They can easily complete this aspiration by fishing in several different spots, catching many types of fish, and mastering fishing skills. There are over 50 fish to collect spread across several expansions, and fish can be useful for cooking, fertilizing, or keeping as pets and wall decor. Try to collect all kinds of fish as a bonus challenge.

Generation Four: Tips and Licensing Music

A Sim plays the guitar while his friends watch and the music lover trait icon is added to the photo

  • Variation One: Play the piano
  • Variation Two: Play the guitar

This next generation is led by a music lover who makes their living through their music. First, save up for either a cheap piano (§935) or a guitar (§600). Once they reach level three of either the piano or guitar skill, they can receive tips from other Sims during public performances. At level nine, your Sim can license their songs through their mailbox. Those with the Get Famous pack can also choose to mix songs on the Music Station machine.

Take your musical Sim through the journey of completing the musical genius aspiration, which is one of the most difficult aspirations in the game. For their quirk, make sure to give your Sim one type of music that they like and at least three others that they dislike. This can be done in Create-A-Sim in the likes and dislikes menu.

Generation Five: Frog Breeding

A Sim is searching for frogs to breed in The Sims 4 and a photo of the frog fanatic aspiration has been added

  • Variation One: Keep and breed different kinds of frogs
  • Variations: Only breed one kind of frog

Embrace the beauty of the lost art of frog breeding for this generation. This heir loves frogs so much, they’re starting to look like one! Please abide by the quirk by dressing this Sim in green, decking their home with plants, and only bathing in a tub.

This frog fanatic has the loves outdoors trait and spends the majority of their time outside in search of rare frogs. This trait makes them better equipped to take on the curator aspiration. Collect all 25 frogs to complete the collection and search for other items like crystals, elements, and fossils along the way.

Generation Six: Knitting (Nifty Knitting)

A Sim is knitting something and the knitting skill icon is added to the photo

  • Variation One: ONLY knit clothes
  • Variation Two: ONLY knit decorations and toys

Summon your inner knitter with this generation, made possible with the Nifty Knitting stuff pack. To begin, make enough money for a yarn basket (§55). Complete the lady/lord of the knits aspiration, done by developing knitting skills and creating excellent quality items to achieve the sacred knitting knowledge reward trait in addition to their family-oriented trait.

Although your Sim for this generation knits as their main source of income, they also enjoy gifting and donating their products. The quirk of this generation is that your Sim must give away one knitted object for every category of possible crafts.

Generation Seven: Videos (Get Famous)

A Sim is making videos at the video making station and the media production skill icon is added to the photo

  • Variation One: Be a beauty and fashion guru
  • Variation Two: Be a gamer and vlogger

The seventh-generation self-absorbed heir wants to become the biggest SimsTuber and Simfluencer. This, of course, requires the expensive media production table from the Get Famous expansion worth §1,635. Give this Sim a style glow-up for each celebrity level that they achieve for the quirk of the generation.

Complete the world-famous celebrity aspiration to finish this generation’s requirements. This entails becoming a five-star celebrity and interacting with fans and paparazzi.

Generation Eight: Ranching (Cottage Living)

A Sim hugs a cow in The Sims 4 and the icon for the animal lover trait has been added to the photo

  • Variation One: ONLY collect from chickens
  • Variation Two: ONLY collect from cows and llamas

The next Sim in this challenge is a bit of a loner, but they enjoy the company of their farm animals. Get access to these farm animals with the Cottage Living expansion pack. They aspire to be a country caretaker and have a good relationship with their animals. Your Sim must win first-place ribbons in the Finchwick Fair for animals and animal products for the added quirk. They must also live on a lot with the simple living lot trait.

Choose your Sim’s livestock wisely because the animals and their habitats are rather expensive. It costs §400 for a chicken coop, §150 per hen, and §200 per rooster. Animal sheds for llamas and cows cost §500. Each llama costs §350, and each cow costs §400.

Generation Nine: Potions (Realm of Magic)

A Sim is mixing potions in a cauldron and the icon for the potion aspiration is added to the photo

  • Variation One: ONLY sell mood potions
  • Variation Two: ONLY sell mean and mischievous potions

Who would’ve thought that a bookworm who studies spellcasting could make enough simoleons to live comfortably? Become a spellcaster Sim with the Realm of Magic game pack. Save enough to purchase a cauldron (§800) to make either mood potions or mean/mischievous potions, depending on the chosen variation.

Players who enjoy the occasional bloodshed will enjoy this legacy challenge turned deadly. May the odds be ever in their favor.

Complete the purveyor of potions aspiration for this generation to earn the master mixer reward trait, which allows your Sim to make more valuable potions. For this generation’s quirk, choose or create two spellcaster Sims as your Sim’s friends to socialize with and get into mischief with. This would be the perfect opportunity to use the club system from the Get Together expansion.

Generation Ten: Beachcombing (Island Living)

A Sim is beachcombing for seashells and an added photo of the beach life aspiration icon is present

  • Variation One: ONLY sell seashells
  • Variation Two: ONLY sell treasures

The tenth and final generation of the challenge ends with a child of the islands. Retire to the island of Sulani from the Island Living expansion, and spend the majority of your time combing the beach for shells and treasures. If your Sim sells seashells (by the seashore), any treasure found must be used as decorations or gifts and not sold for profit. The same goes for Sims on the treasure path.

Complete the beach life aspiration with this Sim. To do so, take part in beach activities like getting a suntan, barbecuing food, exploring the hidden cave, and relaxing on loungers. No matter what other responsibilities this Sim has in their day, they must spend time napping and sunbathing outside at least once a day as an added quirk. That’ll be one tanned Sim!

Alternate Generations

If you don’t own some of the packs for the above generations, there are several alternate options to explore with the base game. These options can also be used to continue the challenge after the ten previous generations have been completed. The following table lists the themes for five new generations of the Odd Money Legacy Challenge, including the two different variations, traits, aspirations, quirks, and any required objects.
