We’re getting to grips with all the new content in Fortnite after the latest season launch. Chapter 5 Season 2 welcomes the Greek gods to the island, with new bosses, guns, and Battle Pass rewards. The updated medallions, Thunderbolt of Zeus, and Wings of Icarus have taken the spotlight. However, the Underworld Dash mechanic in Fortnite shouldn’t be overlooked.

Helping you travel short distances at speed, you can shoot in and out of combat and fast travel using the ability. However, we’ve spotted a couple of ways the Underworld Dash mechanic could prove seriously overpowered over the coming weeks in Fortnite. Take a look at how you can use the dash mechanic to its fullest potential below.

Dexterous Underworld Dash

Before we get into a couple of genius ways to use the Underworld Dash in Fortnite, we’ll get everyone up to speed on what it is and how to get it. Underworld Dash is a new movement mechanic that helps you move rapidly over short distances.

To gain Underworld Dash, you can either spend some time bathing in the green water bodies around The Underworld and Grim Gate or holding onto Cerberus’ Aspect of Agility medallion. You will know you’ve got the ability as a green skull will be floating around you.

You can have a maximum of three skulls, giving you three bursts of dash. The dash gained from the green waters is gone once you’ve used it, whereas the medallion will refresh dashes over time.

While most players have been using the Underworld Dash in regular ways, u/PiccoloIntrepid4491 has taken to Reddit and revealed a couple of brilliant uses for the ability. Check them out in their post below:

As seen in the video, you can use dash while raining lightning down on an enemy with the Thunderbolt of Zeus and also while carrying a teammate! This fixes one of the issues many players have found with the Thunderbolt of Zeus attack being underwhelming.

When using Zeus’ attack, you can often feel like a sitting duck. Pauses between lightning throws leave you open to a barrage of bullets. However, pairing that with the rapid movement offered by the Underworld Dash negates the skill’s biggest flaw!

Saving a downed teammate and using the dash to escape enemies or rush in from the storm is another top aspect of it. It’s always easier to win with more players on your team. This protective aspect the Underworld Dash offers just adds to its power.

Obviously, bear these abilities in mind when battling around The Underworld and Grim Gate. They may also tempt you to go after Cerberus so you can carry his medallion for the whole game!

Coupling these skills with the best controller settings and best keyboard and mouse settings can really elevate your Fortnite game! Also, learn how to turn on aim assist to take down enemies with ease.
