NBA 2K24 players have uncovered something that they are not too pleased with in the game. The shot meter is supposed to be useful and accurate when it comes to shooting with different players, but it seems to be anything but. One Redditor found something they truly disliked with it, and the community has joined in the complaint.

NBA 2K24 shot meter leaves fans up in arms

Reddit user u/stephenryan1321 shared this post to Reddit, complaining about the shot meter. They were frustrated by their player, who has good shooting attributes, was struggling and had such a tiny shot meter on the release.

They said, “Can someone tell me why with an 85 3 ball and sharp take my meter is this small? Also my release is on push and the ball is clearly out of my hands before it hits the top. This game is so bad I swear.”

Many fans chimed in with complaints of their own. u/veeno__ said, “2K more worried about cosmetics than gameplay. Because it’s more important for you buy it than play in it.” This is a recurring complaint from the community, as the gameplay sometimes suffers in favor of cosmetics and graphics.

u/CP4_Throwaway admitted that they were glad they didn’t purchase this year’s game. u/IsoDemigod was blunt, “Shot meter is so inconsistent never run it, ever.” The shot meter was supposed to be among the best attributes of 2K, but that appears to be far from the case.

u/Substantial-Line-578 added their own experience, “I have an 86 3pt and my meter is always so small even on wide open catch and shoots.” For many players, the shot meter doesn’t appear to be accurately reflect the ratings or the quality of the shooter.
