Several Fortnite POIs have come and gone throughout the years, as the battle royale’s sprawling interactive map constantly shifts to appease the changing tastes of its loyal player base. However, one map location seems to stand head and shoulders above the rest because some players are now calling on Epic Games to bring back the futuristic metropolis of Mega City.
Introduced in March 2023 as part of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2, Mega City brought a dystopic yet aesthetically pleasing new look to the battle royale’s map. Though not quite as popular as the recent addition of LEGO Fortnite, its introduction gave the community plenty to play around with due to the metropolis’s generous offering of Blade Runner-esque vehicles, flashing indestructible skyscrapers, and grind rails that enabled you to explore the city’s neon-tinted streets in style.
In fact, the experience was so memorable to those lucky enough to experience Mega City that some have now gone on Reddit to ask Epic Games to reintroduce the flashy POI. One commenter below a Fortnite subreddit post said: “[In my opinion, the] ch4 map didn’t reach its full potential. I hope we get some of the POIs back at some point,” while another added that Mega City is one of the few POIs they’ll be excited for if it comes back.
Unfortunately, with Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1 only having kicked off in December 2023, it may not be a while until new POIs are brought into the battle royale, let alone reintroduced. It is worth noting, though, that popular map locations are often brought back, which means a return may be in the cards for Mega City.
