the Lightyear Frontier release date, when the game goes into Early Access, is almost upon us. Lightyear Frontier is hitting digital storefronts in late March, with more details coming out as we approach the date.

Lightyear Frontier is an open-world farming sim on a planet at the far edge of the galaxy. The gameplay revolves around travelling around in a mech and building out your home on a foreign planet. It’s bright and colourful, and it features a four-player co-op mode.

Now, let’s take a look at the confirmed Lightyear Frontier release date.

Lightyear Frontier Early Access release date

The Lightyear Frontier release date is March 19, 2024. This will not be the full launch of the game since Lightyear Frontier is releasing first in Early Access via Steam. This means you can expect bugs and what is effectively a playable but wholly unfinished game.

As for how much content will be available in Early Access, we can’t say. Due to this way of releasing Lightyear Frontier, don’t expect it to come to consoles any time soon. The full 1.1 release of Lightyear Frontier is likely very far away, too. s of the game from Amazon for £62.95, but there are no bonuses that come with the standard edition.

Lightyear Frontier setting and gameplay

As mentioned, Lightyear Frontier is a brand-new open-world farming simulator. We’ve seen videos on Steam that show you being able to fully customise your mech, build vast homesteads, and explore a beautiful-looking world.

If that description doesn’t hook you in, this is what developer FrameBreak has to say about it on Steam: “Live the quiet life as you take in the sights and sounds of your new home. Enjoy a low-stress, combat-free experience without the need to manage things like thirst and hunger. Just focus on farming, exploration, and discovery!”

Lightyear Frontier is very firmly not a survival game. The description above lays out that there is no combat and no hunger or thirst to manage. All you need to do is enjoy your time and explore the world. It sounds like it could be Animal Crossing in space with mechs, and that sounds fine to us.

That’s it for the Lightyear Frontier release date. For more upcoming games, check our release date pages for Rise of the Ronin and Dragon’s Dogma 2.
