You need skills for your fighting styles! Otherwise, what’s the point of taking part in battles? Every fighting style has a variety of skills to collect that boost their power significantly.
How to Obtain Skills
The only way to obtain new skills in Cursed Sea is by spinning! No, you don’t need to spin your avatar, but instead, click the ‘Spin’ button in the skill menu. Then, to collect even stronger skills, you need to work on your Mastery.
The first skill you obtain is free, but for your next spins, you’ll have to use Gems (the in-game currency!). Due to the gacha system for the skills, they all have a certain rarity. And yep, you guessed it, the rarer ones are the best. However, players can experiment with the different skills to see which works best for their fighting style.
This leads to my next point. When you spin for a skill, it will be for a specific fighting style. Swapping out your fighting styles doesn’t remove the obtained skills, so you don’t need to worry about that.
Skill Rarities
Every skill falls under a rarity. Mythic skills are pretty hard to obtain, with an incredibly low drop rate chance. Whereas Common skills are what you’ll be coming across the most.
