Follow these tips to leave your opponents behind:

Master Your Starter Boost

This tip is not really about the drift, but it is a crucial mechanic because the way you start the race is the way you end it. Start driving when the countdown reaches zero, to get the maximum initial speed.

Drift Whenever You Can

Drifting enables the accumulation of turbos that will prove useful. Additionally, a successful drift provides a boost, particularly beneficial in the final race stage. Familiarize yourself with the racetracks to anticipate when and how to drift. The longer the drift, the faster the acceleration at the end.

The first way of drifting in Fortnite Rocket Racing is by holding turn left or right on sharp turns. This automated method may not always produce the desired outcome, though.

The second way is manual drifting, in which you fully control a car. On the default settings, you should hold down the Square button on PlayStation gamepads or the X button on Xbox controllers. If you are playing on a keyboard and mouse, press the Shift button.

Drift Carefully

You should drift carefully because you can always crash into a fence or an opponent and lose the car’s speed. Don’t drift on turns too early or late if you realize that you won’t be able to drift accurately on that turn.

Don’t Forget About Green Speed Boosts

In addition to drifting, there are speed boosters all over the racetrack, so don’t ignore them, as they can give you an advantage over your opponents. By combining all these tips with drifting, you will be much more likely to finish the race in first place.
