While Fortnite’s list of potential collaborations may be endless, some dreams often seem to have more potential than others – and now the Fortnite community may have their hearts set on what could be a dream crossover.

In a thread entitled ‘Imagine waking up to this collab’ a user by the name of CurlyOtaku_ has put forward their proposal for a crossover based on the Despicable Me series – the animated movies starring those ubiquitous pop culture icons, the Minions. However, in perhaps an unexpected twist, the Minions don’t quite feature as heavily in the concept as you might expect – with the main skin featuring the likeness of main character Gru – voiced in the movies by Steve Carell.

Very quickly, the subreddit has almost overwhelmingly voted in favour of the bundle. “I would buy the entire bundle as fast as possible” declares StrictChip7192. “I’d buy it all” concurs III_Carpet5280 and “I would scream with joy louder than a baby on a plane” adds Bacon_lord4. “TAKE MY V BUCKS” yells _aesahaettr_ in all caps, of course.

As well as the Gru skin, the fans are having fun coming up with ideas for other Despicable Me themed cosmetics that could go along with the pack – with the OP suggesting those Minions to act as Back Bling in their concept. “Bro a minion backpack would go so hard” says Communismisbadithink in agreement. But the fans have other suggestions too such as TJB926GAMIN. “I’d love to see (the third movie’s villain) Balthazar Bratt’s keytar as a pickaxe, and instead of swinging it you blast it with music…” (and may we say, that’d also go well with the Fortnite Festival mode?)

“The Grumobile would be a traversal emote” adds soulsurviv0r111, while there’s also plenty of votes for the movie series’ signature music to be added to the game – “Despicable Me song goes crazy tho, ngl.” says GatoT25666 – and again, we’d have to point out it could also suit the game’s Fortnite Festival mode pretty easily. As several others point out – there’s actually a Despicable Me 4 set to release in cinemas this Summer, so presumably Epic could already be working behind the scenes on a future tie-in. But we’ll have to wait and see to find out if it comes to pass.
