The Epic Games store has been giving away a free game every day since December 20th. It’s part of an annual celebration of Christmas and the new year, and it’s offered some truly great experiences from indies to AAA. While we wish the daily freebies would never end, the promotional event sadly finishes today. A leak has revealed the final Epic Games store January 2024 free mystery game and it is a superhero masterpiece on par with Marvel’s Spider-Man and the Batman Arkham series.

As mentioned, Epic Games has been giving away free mystery games on a daily basis since December 20th. It has been a remarkably good event with some massive heavy hitters such as DNF Duel, Ghostrunner, and The Outer Worlds. Right now we can all claim the excellent A Plague Tale Innocence with its sequel A Plague Tale Requiem also free as part of PS Plus January 2024 Essentials.

While the Epic event has been incredible, the store will return to delivering freebies on a weekly occurrence after today. Although unfortunate, the good news is that the daily giveaways are ending with a bang.

Final Epic Games store January 2024 free mystery game

The leaked final Epic Games store January 2024 free mystery game is Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. This comes courtesy of an unidentified ‘Chinese leaker’ but shared by the reliable billbil_kun on Twitter. All of the December and January free mystery games were accurately leaked including up to A Plague Tale Innocence which is only available to claim until 8 AM PT/ 11 AM ET/ 4 PM GMT.

Seeing as all the previous leaks have been accurate, Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is inbound and is a fantastic way to finish the daily giveaways. Although unfortunately not a commercial hit at the time of its release in 2021, it is a masterpiece that has gathered many fans since joining Xbox Game Pass and PS Plus Extra.

Its story and characters are possibly even better than the beloved James Gunn trilogy, and it’s just a fun spectacle full of great acting, awesome music, a fascinating villain, and unforgettable moments. Rather than a disaster comparable to Marvel’s Avengers like many predicted, the game is instead part of the best superhero video games catalog alongside Batman Arkham and Insomniac’s Spider-Man.

When it becomes available later today, you will have until 8 AM PT/ 11 AM ET/ 4 PM GMT to claim. If you’re in the mood for more freebies, make sure to sign up to possibly win a brand new PS5 console by just answering five questions. You can also try to win a brand new Nintendo Switch OLED for free.
