ELITE MUST PAY — AGAIN

Why is it that, at every budget, every chance they get, the liberals (in Canada and the U.S.) say that the elite must pay their fair share?

Article content

Seems to me they keep making the rich pay their fair share, so it is obviously a political talking point that they feel will play well with the masses. And, if they have not made the rich pay their fair share, then why not?

(Believe me, they have taxed us all to death.)

EASY TARGET

Considering Justin Trudeau’s lofty net worth, how cynical to try to depict the wealthy as fat cats, therefore an easy target of his capital gains tax grab. Trudeau likely thought this was a safe group to go after that would garner little public sympathy.

Unfortunately for Trudeau, he also has caught doctors, farmers, cottage owners, small business owners et al in his capital gains net. These are not necessarily all extremely wealthy individuals.

Let’s hope Trudeau reconsiders this latest cash grab.

DIMINISHED WAY OF LIFE

Since 2015, Justin Trudeau has won one majority and two minority elections, the last giving him just 32 per cent of the popular vote. He’s doubled our debt while raising taxes that have diminished Canadians’ way of life.

He talks to voters about certain programs he knows are unattainable due to a 2024 budget deficit of $40 billion. His ultimate goal is re-election even though, almost single-handedly, he’s destroying our economy and Canadians’ standard of living.

DON’T FOLD YOUR TENTS

No folding of the tents at the University of Ottawa; the folks are protesting peacefully, and it is their democratic right to do so. Ottawa’s police chief should refuse to get involved as it is not a law enforcement matter unless criminal acts are committed.

Going against Israel is deemed in a lot of places, including most of the mainstream press, as antisemitic, but of course it is not. It is letting Tel Aviv know that its military actions are way over the top and the mass killings of civilians has to stop, plain and simple.
