Turok 3: Shadow Of Oblivion Remaster Pushed Back To Late November

Nightdive has announced that its upcoming Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion remaster has been delayed by a couple of weeks.

The remaster was originally supposed to launch on November 14th, but it seems that some additional polish will be needed, as the new release date for the game is November 30th.

No reason for the remaster was announced, but generally speaking, a delay of just a couple of weeks probably indicates a need for some finishing touches that the previous release date wouldn’t allow for.

Nightdive’s Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion remaster needs a bit more time before it’s ready.

If you’re not familiar with Nightdive’s work, it’s a studio that works on porting and remastering classic retro games for modern systems.

Nightdive’s previous works include remastered versions of Shadow Man, the Blade Runner adventure game, and the classic FPS Star Wars: Dark Forces, among many others.

The studio doesn’t just remaster games, though; Nightdive is also responsible for this year’s System Shock remake, which our reviewer Alex liked rather a lot.

Nightdive is best-known for its work remastering retro games, as well as its System Shock remake.

When Nightdive’s Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion does arrive, it’ll come to PC, PlayStation consoles, Xbox platforms, and Nintendo Switch.

The remastered version will boast 4K 120FPS performance on PC and current-gen systems, as well as a host of visual and performance improvements including anti-aliasing, motion blur, and dynamic shadows.

You can also look forward to optional gyro controls for the Switch, as well as trophies and achievements on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox.

Naturally, since it’s a remaster, Nightdive has also opted to improve Turok 3‘s character models, environment art, and weapon models, so it should look a little sharper than you might remember it looking on N64.

Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion is set to launch on PC and consoles on November 30th. Stay tuned for more news on this, as well as all things Nightdive and retro gaming-related, as soon as we get it.
