This EA FC 24 corner routine is ridiculously overpowered

If you’re having trouble scoring, then you need to learn this new FC 24 corner routine! They may not be the prettiest goals you score, but they all count.

With more players picking up on the five-at-the-back formation meta since the FC 24 release date, it is proving more and more difficult to break down the opposition and score. That is why having a tried-and-tested set-piece routine up your sleeve is vital. It can win you tight games and massively improve your results in FC 24 Ultimate Team!

The hours we put into the game to write our FC 24 review have been added to, constantly keeping up with the developing meta of the early game. Now things are settling down and players are realising the overpowered mechanics, we can bring you your new go-to corner routine.

How to score from corners in FC 24

When it comes to scoring from corners in FC 24, the key seems to be PlayStyles! A new mechanic in the recent game, they have taken over from Traits in a massive way.

In previous FIFA titles, Traits mainly went unnoticed – unless you were looking at a player profile. In FC 24, PlayStyles are vital to get the best meta players.

The PlayStyles you want for your corner taker is Whipped Pass, or even better, the PlayStyles+ version. This means “[a]ll crosses are highly accurate, travel faster and with more curve”. With the PlayStyles+ upgrade, players also “[perform] driven crosses with exceptional power”.

If you don’t have a player in the side with that PlayStyle, then the Dead Ball one is your next best bet. This means “[s]et pieces are delivered with increased speed, curve, and accuracy. Ball trajectory preview line is somewhat longer”. Dead Ball+ will mean “[s]et pieces are delivered with exceptional speed, curve, and accuracy. Ball trajectory preview line is at maximum length”.

You are looking to put an inswinging corner around the penalty spot area in at such speed and with plenty of whip, that it is near impossible to defend! So, that is your corner-taker sorted, but what about the player who will score from the cross?

In this case, you are looking for a player with the Power Header PlayStyle or PlayStyle+. Players with this will “[perform] headers with increased power and accuracy” or “[perform] headers with maximum power and accuracy”. That means if they make a connection with the ball, it usually ends up in the back of the net!

As well as the Power Header, having the Aerial PlayStyle will greatly improve your success. If a player has both of these PlayStyles, they will be a true beast in the air!

So, now you know what sort of players you’re looking for and the basic premise of the corner routine in FC 24, let’s take a look at how to perform it.
