Tennis Clash kicks of the year with latest event in partnership with the Australian Open

There is no denying that Tennis Clash has some tight gameplay, but we would be remiss if we also didn’t factor in the work the team did in landing some excellent partners, such as Tennis Australia. This is paying dividends once again, with Wildfire Studio’s announcements of its latest update to celebrate the Australian Open.

The Australian Open is one of the most important events of the tennis calendar, as it marks the first Grand Slam of the year, where we can see which players can shake off the haze of that long end-of-year slog and food coma to do what they do best; smash balls at each other when making many a questionable sound.

To commemorate this behemoth of a tournament, Tennis Clash will include an in-game replica of the Australian Open main court, the Rod Laver Arena, for those wanting to recreate matches, new branded outfits, themed bags, and the Australian Open String. Last year, this event pulled in over 1.6 million played matches, so there’s a big target to beat.

Slightly away from the tournament itself, this update also brings some new gameplay mechanics, starting with the AO Tokens. Through playing across multiple modes as you usually would, you will now rack up this new currency, which can be spent on exclusive branded items from current and past collaborations. Great for collectors.

The Trophy Road, Tennis Clash’s progression system that I dare you to say without singing John Denver, will get a new tenth tour, titled the Grand Tour. This will last one month per season and will alternate between a few themes, including partnership-related seasons, allowing players to duke it out in branded arenas for exclusive items. To gain entry to this, you will first need to conquer the previous nine Tours.

Tennis Clash is available to download from the App Store and Google Play.
