ConcernedApe shared an in-game image featuring Stardew Valley characters celebrating what appears to be a New Year’s Festival, potentially confirming the new seasonal event to be added in Update 1.6. The image shows a custom Farmer protagonist standing on the beach, surrounded by the citizens of Pelican Town, all in winter attire. As the Farmer holds aloft a firework, a textbox featuring a cow and two Stardrops sends a message of good fortune. With the winter clothes were confirmed in a previous reveal, the new firework item and familiar event text box are welcome teases to suggest there will indeed be a New Year’s Festival. Festivals in Stardew Valley have been a major talking point among the fanbase for years, and many are hopeful that this is a teaser of things to come and not simply a holiday greeting.
Fans have already begun celebrating the real-world New Year while also cheering in response to the potential festival coming to Stardew Valley.
