Rackam is one of the few dedicated ranged units in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and he’s capable of dishing out tons of sustained damage with his automatic rifles and hard-hitting pistol. His playstyle is completely different from the majority of the cast, but that doesn’t make him any less powerful than everyone else.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink — Vane Build and Character Guide
Vane is a tanky bruiser with the potential to cover multiple roles in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Here’s a guide covering his basic builds and combos.
Players who are looking for a more relaxed playstyle that’s laser-focused on dealing damage should find Rackam to be a very comfortable pick. He may not have as many flash combos as other characters in Granblue Fantasy: Relink, but it’s hard to argue with the results he can provide. Here’s a quick guide covering all the basics of this character.
How to Play Rackam
Rackam’s job is to sit back and pelt his enemies with rifle fire from relatively far away. His gameplay revolves around building his Heat Gauge and to speed up the charge time for his bread-and-butter attack: Bull’s Eye Blast. This charged attack is the main source of Rackam’s damage, and everything else in his kit is there to help him get this attack out more often. The goal with Rackam is to get the Heat Gauge to at least 80% before letting out a Bull’s Eye Blast. Use his basic attacks and offensive skills to build Heat whenever the gauge dips below that threshold.
One thing many new Rackam players tend to overlook is his Rhythmic Trigger support skill, which makes his basic attacks deal more damage when paced properly, much like how Siegfried does. Press and hold down your attack button to fire a three-round burst. Then, press and hold the button again a little while after the previous burst to fire a stronger stream of bullets. It takes a while to get used to the cadence, but you’ll know Rhythmic Trigger is activating when an audiovisual cue plays.
Best Rackam Skills
Skill |
Effect |
---|---|
Coffinmaker |
Hold while activating to unleash a hail of bullets. |
Collateral Damage |
Fire a devastating blast that damages Rackam and all enemies caught in the blast radius. |
Spitfire |
Fire a shot that reduces target DEF by 10%. |
Double Tap |
Temporarily increases the number of hits dealth by Rackam’s basic attacks. |
Wild Gunsmoke |
Increases Rackam’s ATK and Crit Hit Rate. but reduces his DEF. Maxes out the Heat Gauge on use, and prevents Heat Gauge loss when active. |
Offensive skills like Coffinmaker and Collateral Damage give players options on how to deal with targets outside of spamming charged attacks. Coffinmaker in particular is great for quickly taking out weak enemies or outputting more DPS between charged shots, while Collateral Damage is more suited for dealing big bursts of damage to everything in a small area. Begin your barrages with Spitfire to reduce your target’s DEF by a small amount. Such simple skills also make Rackam a very handy pick as an AI-controlled teammate in Granblue Fantasy: Relink.
Wild Gunsmoke is Rackam’s strongest self-buff. Apart from increasing his ATK and Crit Rate, it also prevents the Heat Gauge from going down, essentially giving you a few seconds where you can spam Bull’s Eye Blast shots back-to-back. You can pair this with Double Tap to make your regular shots more effective. Avoid activating both at the same time, however, as Bull’s Eye Blast does not benefit from Double Tap.
Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Where To Get Sigils
Sigils make up a big chunk of your character’s power in Granblue Fantasy: Relink. Here’s how you can farm for them.
Best Weapons for Rackam
Rackam is a DPS hero in the same lieu as other Granblue Fantasy: Relink characters like Narmaya and Lancelot, and he benefits a lot from Critical Hit stats thanks to his extreme attack speed. Tiamat Bolt Omega is the perfect choice for boosting his damage output, and it can carry you all the way to the end game. However, like every other character in the game, he should be equipped with his Terminus Weapon as soon as it becomes available.
Tiamat Bolt Omega comes with an innate Crit Hit Rate stat that gets stronger as the weapon is upgraded. Infuse this with Critical Damage to round out the weapon’s offensive benefits while also freeing up slots for Sigils in the future.
Best Rackam Sigils
- Helmsman’s Navigation
- Helmsman’s Tenacity
- Damage Cap+
- Concentrated Fire
- Attack
- Critical Hit Rate
- Critical Damage
- War Elemental
- Guts
If you’re still trying to reach the endgame, the usual early-game Sigils in Granblue Fantasy: Relink will do wonders for Rackam’s DPS and survivability. However, you should try to get the War Element Sigil as early as possible. Equipping it will make it so your attacks deal bonus damage to all targets as if they were weak to Fire. This naturally does nothing if you’re attacking something that already has Fire weakness.
Later on, you’ll want to equip DMG Cap Sigils to deal even more damage, and use a Guts Sigil to act as a safety net. Most enemies in the endgame can one-shot you, and having the ability to outright ignore death is often better than stacking defensive stats.
Rackam Team Compositions
Rackam doesn’t exactly need any specific team compositions to shine. He can do his job exceedingly well as long as he can keep his rotations going without getting hit. However, certain characters can make Rackam’s job easier by making enemies easier to manage or by providing him with extra offensive buffs. Such characters include:
- Vane, Ghandagoza, Vaseraga: These three tanks serve as the party’s vanguard who can force enemies to attack them instead of everyone else. They can pull some pressure off of Rackam, letting him perform his attack rotations in peace.
- Cagliostro/Captain: Both of these characters provide valuable party-wide buffs to offense and defense. Cagliostro’s Phantasmagoria is an incredible ATK and Crit buff for all DPS heroes, while the Captain’s versatile skill set makes them very effective in a wide range of encounters.
