Palworld: How to Get Polymer

In Palworld, there are many different items to harvest and collect as you progress through the game. However, some items are much more important than others, due to being needed to create essential items and facilities, such as tools and weapons to assist your adventure through the islands, or workstations and objects to reinforce your Base.

Among the most useful items in the game is Polymer, a resource that can be used in recipes to craft a variety of different weapons and items for yourself and your Base. In the mid-to-late game, in particular, Polymer is somewhat essential. For this reason, knowing how to reliably source this material is highly important for players.

How to Get Polymer in Palworld

In Palworld, there are two different methods in which you can use to obtain Polymer. The first of these methods involves taking on the Pal known as Jetragon, as Polymer is a potential drop that can fall when capturing or killing this creature. Alternatively, you can also attempt to capture multiple Jetragon and then use a Meat Cleaver to butcher them, as this essentially gives you double drops – once when you capture the Pal, and again when you butcher it. However, Jetragon is arguably the strongest Pal in the game, so this method may be off the table for those in the early-to-mid stages of the game.

The second method in which you can use to obtain Polymer in Palworld is by crafting it using High-Quality Pal Oil. High-Quality Pal Oil is an item that is dropped upon capturing or killing certain Pals. However, there is quite a range of Pals capable of providing this item as a drop, so this allows players who are at the earlier stages of the game to also have a decent chance of obtaining this resource.

All Pals That Can Potentially Drop High-Quality Pal Oil:

  • Dumud
  • Elphidran
  • Elphidran Aqua
  • Grintale
  • Flambelle
  • Digtoise
  • Relaxaurus
  • Relaxaurus Lux
  • Woolipop
  • Mammorest
  • Quivern
  • Jormuntide Ignis

Once you have successfully acquired a stash of High-Quality Pal Oil, you will need to use a Production Assembly Line, which can be purchased for 2 Technology Points upon reaching player level 28. After unlocking this recipe, the Production Assembly Line can be crafted around your Base at the expense of a few materials and resources.

All Materials Needed To Craft a Production Assembly Line

  • Wood x50
  • Ingot x100
  • Nail x20
  • Cement x10

For every Polymer that you wish to craft, you will need to have 2 High-Quality Pal Oil in your possession. As the items that Polymer is used to create (guns in particular) require quite a bit of this material to craft, you will need to be able to farm High-Quality Pal Oil consistently and build up a stash to use for crafting.
