Those looking to cheat on official Palworld servers may have their days numbered, as developer Pocket Pair has announced it’s putting a renewed focus on tackling the problem of cheaters in upcoming updates to the game.
In a message posted on the game’s official X (formerly Twitter) account, the studio outlined the situation as it stands. “Currently, some users are unable to connect to official servers due to cheating and the influence of fraudulent activities. We have confirmed that some players are unable to play the game properly.”
“As a company, we do not tolerate any fraudulent activity or cheating, and we are working on measures to deal with it strictly and as a priority,” the message continued, followed with an outline of exactly what the team are going to do moving forward.
They include the promise of a “player list function for servers” that they say will be included in an update aimed for release towards the end of February. “Through this, we will strengthen the identification of players who engage in cheating and the suspension of their use by the development team.”
Furthermore, Pocket Pair has confirmed it’ll be introducing an ‘external’ anti-cheat solution to Palworld – but stopped short of confirming what software would be used at this time. However, it did make clear that “in the case of community servers, single player and co-op the use of this function is optional.”
Going forward, the team say they’ll continue to monitor the situation and will “continue to take tough measures against further cheating and fraudulent activities” – however, they also acknowledged their existing issues of having a small development team they’re in the process of filing out.
“Although the development team is dealing with each issue on a daily basis and taking measures, there are many cases where we are not able to keep up, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.”
Finally, they thanked fans for their support, and promised to work hard to get the game back into a state where players can “enjoy the game comfortably and with peace of mind as soon as possible.”
Fingers crossed that Pocket Pair can fix the issues of cheaters for those playing on official servers, but it remains to be seen what steps will be taken, and if it could effect existing Palworld glitches like the easy boss farming method as well. As the game is in early access however, expect plenty of changes on the road ahead.
