Nvidia has just unveiled the RTX 4080 Super alongside the RTX 4070 Super and the RTX 4070 Ti Super during its Special Address at CES 2024. The price, specs, and release date of all three cards have also been revealed.
The Nvidia RTX 4080 Super carries a launch price of $999 and will be available from January 31. It’s quoted by Nvidia as being twice as powerful as the RTX 3080 Ti boasting a total of 52 Shader TFLOPS, 121 RT FLOPS, and 836 AI TOPS. Additionally, the RTX 4070 Ti Super will launch at $799 on January 24 with the RTX 4070 Super coming next week on January 17th from $599.
All three RTX 40 series Super cards were heavily rumored over the past few weeks and it appears as though the leaks were all accurate. What’s significant about these three new cards is the fact that they are cheaper than their predecessors while boasting more power under the hood which could list them among the best graphics cards of this GPU generation.
A bold claim made by Nvidia is that the RTX 4070 Super, with 20% more cores than the previous base model, will actually be faster than the RTX 3090 for less than half that card’s respective MSRP. Jeff Fisher says during the presentation that when using DLSS 3 it’s “1.5x times faster” at just a “fraction of the power”. It further cements the massive leaps made from Ampere in 2020 to Ada in early 2024 that a previous flagship GPU is now being outperformed by a mid-range refresh model.
