It’s been claimed that the RTX 4070 Super, RTX 4070 Ti Super, and RTX 4080 Super will be released in January ahead of CES 2024 according to a recent leak.
Chinese hardware website ITHome has claimed that the RTX 40 series Super cards will be released next month with three GPUs launching in the coming weeks. According to the source, Nvidia allegedly plans to showcase the new video cards on January 8, undercutting the anticipated computing showcase by around 24 hours.
The post states a proposed release order for the three new graphics cards. It is alleged that the RTX 4070 Super and RTX 4070 Ti Super will drop on January 17 and January 24 respectively, with the RTX 4080 Super coming on January 31.
The post cites its source as Bopantang news and explains the alleged pricing and specs of the three new Super variants. Reportedly, the RTX 4070 Super will retail between $599-$649 and feature 12GB GDDR6X VRAM, performing similarly to the RTX 4070 Ti. In contrast, the source explains that the RTX 4070 Ti Super will cost $799-849 and feature 16GB GDDR6X VRAM, essentially matching the previous RTX 4080 in terms of performance at a cheaper price point.
Interestingly, the rumored RTX 4080 Super sounds as if it’s changing the least. Speculated to debut at with a $999 starting price, it’s supposedly 9% faster than the base model while being a touch more affordable. If true, time will tell whether these new hardware variants can be considered among the best graphics cards on the market.
Should these new graphics cards materialize next month, it’ll be the first time that Nvidia has used the Super branding for its GPUs since the RTX 2080 Super which released back in mid-2019. Unlike Ti variants of cards, a Super version tends to be a slightly faster option which releases at a similar price point and replaces the original, this trend could continue with the three new video cards next year, too.
