The God of War series is known for Kratos’ rageful and violent antics against different godly pantheons, but which ending is the darkest?
Due to Kratos’ actions, many of the celestial beings turn against him. This led to many epic battles, in which Kratos inevitably killed them. Each god had a special power, but not all of them posed a similar threat to the Spartan’s life.

As the goddess of War, Athena was also proficient in the art of fighting. In Greek mythology, Athena was superior to her brother, Ares, in every single way. However, the God of War franchise did not use her as a fighter, which turned out to be the better decision in the long run.

Every God Of War Game, Ranked
One of PlayStation’s flagship franchises, Santa Monica Studio’s God of War has produced plenty of great games. Naturally, some are better than others.
Hades’ ability to steal souls made him extremely dangerous. He used this power many times to help Olympus and fulfill his own desires. When Kratos fought Hades, the latter was unharmed because of his ridiculous regenerative abilities. Kratos had to steal Hades’ weapons to drag out his soul; otherwise, the Spartan would have never beaten him.

Odin poisoned Thor’s mind with hatred for the giants, which resulted in the latter killing almost all of them. Thor was feared throughout the Nine Realms because of his absurd power.
Thor’s weapon of choice was the Mjölnir, an extraordinary hammer crafted by Brok and Sindri. Thor could throw the hammer at his enemy, after which it would return to him. As the Norse god of thunder, Thor could even infuse his body with electricity, which acted as a kind of armor.

He supported Kratos in his quest to take down Ares, the then-god of War. Aside from his special abilities, Zeus also had full control over every Olympian.
They feared his power, which kept them in line. In God of War 2 and 3, Kratos had to fight his father, and it was indubitably the toughest challenge of his journey. Zeus’s physical abilities made it almost impossible for Kratos to gain an edge. He was also an extremely cunning man, as evidenced by his plot to take down Kratos and bring his life to an end without much effort.
