Bandai Namco Entertainment has shared more details about the Supermassive Games-developed installment in the puzzle-platform horror series, Little Nightmares III. Today, Bandai Namco offered an extensive overview of the cooperative gameplay in this brand-new adventure within the Little Nightmares universe.
In Little Nightmares III, players will follow the journey of Low and Alone, two friends on a mission to escape the whimsical and nightmarish world, called The Nowhere. As the two navigate through the Spiral, a cluster of disturbing and dangerous places, they will solve complex puzzles, encounter dangerous threats, and memorable creatures such as Monster Baby.
Setting itself apart from its predecessors, Little Nightmares III introduces online cooperative play for the first time in the series, allowing players to assume the roles of Low or Alone and navigate this harrowing world with a friend. The game can also be played in single-player mode, with AI controlling the second character.
The new 18-minute co-op gameplay video of Little Nightmares III dives into the depths of The Necropolis, a peculiar place with desert sands powered by gusting winds. It used to be inhabited by the Dwellers but has now become an abandoned ancient metropolis and ghost town. The video showcases how the two characters work together to overcome the dangers of The Necropolis.
Based on the new gameplay video, Little Nightmares III promises a dynamic gameplay experience with its complex puzzles that requires two-players to solve. Like its predecessors, this third installment maintains the distinctive 3D platformer style of the franchise, with some levels featuring towering structures and others set in confined spaces. However, the atmosphere of Little Nightmares III seems to revolve around a dry post-apocalyptic setting, another distinct feature of this new entry.
As of now, the release date for Little Nightmares III has not been disclosed, but it is expected to be available around 2024 for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.
For eager fans who want to be notified as soon as Little Nightmares III is released, the game is now available for wishlist on Steam and PlayStation Store.
