Li-Lo Announced – A heartfelt puzzle-platformer about family

Solo developer Piotr Weber, based in Zurich, has announced Li-Lo, an upcoming single-player 2D puzzle-platformer, through a dedicated trailer. The game is set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year on PC via Steam.

Inspired by his experiences as a new father and reflections on his relationships with his own parents, Piotr began developing the game after the birth of his first child. He chose to work independently, relying only on himself, with invaluable support from his son.

Li-Lo is a family-driven project, with themes of familial support, emotions, mutual assistance, and the deep significance of growth and aging woven into its narrative.

Powered by Unity and featuring a simple yet captivating art style, Li-Lo invites players to explore family relationships through light puzzles and platforming challenges. A unique feature is that characters age over time and react to the player’s actions, adding an engaging and dynamic twist to the gameplay.

The game includes three chapters, with a total playtime of approximately 40–50 minutes, depending on the challenges players face in the platforming sections. According to the developer, the gameplay is designed to be forgiving and as frustration-free as possible, ensuring the experience is accessible to players of all ages. The game doesn’t feature any weapons, shooting, or blood. Characters can only die from obstacle-related damage. To succeed, players must run, jump and navigate obstacles while keeping all family members together.

In Li-Lo, collaboration is everything. However, unlike what one might expect, a single player manages multiple characters connected by a thin thread. Players must ensure the characters stay close and gradually unlock obstacles for each other to progress safely toward their shared goal.

  • No-combat gameplay: the game doesn’t feature any weapons, nor shooting, nor blood. Characters can only die by taking damage from some of the obstacles.
  • Forgiving gameplay: the game features frequent save points to prevent too much progress loss in case of death.
