Jim Carrey is set to return as the iconic Dr. Robotnik in the upcoming movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
The third film is expected to adapt the overall plot from Sonic Adventure 2, complete with Shadow the Hedgehog making his theatrical debut. Alongside Shadow will be Dr. Robotnik (Rouge is nowhere to be seen just yet).
A teaser was recently posted including a sinister laugh from what fans assume is Jim Carrey as Robotnik, as well as the leitmotif of “Live and Learn”, the iconic song from Crush 40 which acts as the theme for Sonic Adventure 2.

The first two films released to great success after a high-profile redesign of the titular Sonic following immense fan backlash.
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is expected to hit theaters this December, meanwhile a Knuckles spin-off series is in the works for Paramount+.
