Even though it wasn’t received as well as other Bethesda classics such as Skyrim and Fallout 4, Starfield was still a big hit on Xbox and PC. Bethesda is committed to improving the overall experience, and it is a game PlayStation loyalists would like to see on PS5. Some Xbox console exclusives have already landed on PlayStation, and a leaker has said Starfield could possibly come to PS5 in 2025 after more Xbox games ‘this holiday season’.

Right now the game is currently only available on Xbox and PC. Bethesda has shared the patch notes for the game’s most recent update that has added 60 FPS. While the addition of 60 FPS gameplay is appreciated, some fans are claiming that the game is still broken after this 25 GB update due to a myriad of persisting issues such as bugs and visual glitches.

The game is far from perfect as it is still plagued with performance issues along with design choices by the developer. However, it’s still a huge Bethesda game, and it’s only natural that PlayStation gamers would like to experience all the highs and lows of Starfield on PS5.

Leaker claims Starfield could come to PS5 in 2025 after more Xbox games

As shared on the GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, renowned insider, NateTheHate, has said more Xbox games are coming to PS5. On this subreddit, NateTheHate is considered a tier 2 source meaning they are ‘generally reliable’.

NateTheHate, username NateDrake on ResetEra, has said “I’ve heard of other [Xbox] games coming to PS5 & they could be during holiday season this year — but working to confirm the games & the release windows”.

While the above isn’t official, it’s not surprising to hear. In addition to the above from NateTheHate, there are reports suggesting that Microsoft is planning to bring more Xbox games to PS5 as part of an internal project codenamed ‘Project Latitude‘.

In addition, it’s reported that Microsoft boss, Satya Nadella, wants to bring more Xbox games to PlayStation as soon as possible following the huge success of Sea of Thieves. Reportedly, Microsoft leadership wants there to be no ‘red line’ which means, in theory, anything could hop over to PlayStation such as iconic Xbox exclusive IPs like Halo and Gears of War.

No specific games are mentioned by NateTheHate, but, in reference to Starfield, the insider said on ResetEra “I’d wager a Starfield Complete Edition comes to PS5 in late 2025. Release the expansion on Xbox, give it 6-12 months of console exclusivity on Xbox and then it all comes to PS5”.

When asked if Starfield will ever come to PS5, Phil Spencer told The Verge in February 2024, “I don’t think we should as an industry ever rule out a game going to any other platform”. This was in response to Starfield as well as the upcoming Xbox console exclusive Indiana Jones game.

Nothing is officially happening right now including more Xbox games moving over to PlayStation. However, following the success of Sea of Thieves and the bevy of reports, we wouldn’t be surprised to see it happen. There is an Xbox showcase planned for June, so perhaps there we will get an update on more console exclusives moving to Sony.
