Helldivers 2 became an instant smash-hit when it was first released, with many players not even knowing of the first game’s existence. Since then, it has become one of the most popular games, with it currently being the second best seller on Steam only behind Valve’s own free-to-play Counter-Strike 2 and it averages over 200,000 concurrent players on PC. To say the gaming community isn’t having a blast killing millions of Automatons and Terminids each day would be an understatement.

This has in part been due to older gamers finally finding a fun shooter they can sink their teeth into with friends without having to play competitively and try and keep up with the younger players who have better reaction times and mechanics. Instead, they can play a high-action shooter but without the pressure of PVP and the figures have shown this is a winning formula for Arrowhead Game Studios. They have been having so much fun that the number has now reached 11 figures.

At the time of writing, there have been 10,050,553,116 and 54,817,813 enemies killed. This means that Helldivers have a collective 183 K/D ratio. Helldivers 2 was released on February 8, 2024, meaning that players have averaged 182,737,329 kills per day, which is a lot of democracy being spread by the community.

Helldivers 2 recently saw its 01.000.200 update released which addresses many balancing changes as well as finally increasing the level cap from 50 to 150, giving players more to grind for after many have been stuck with no progression. This comes at a time when players are now looking towards the next threat to come to the game, which looks like it could be The Illuminate.
