Helldivers 2 has a lot of weapons and items that fans believe need better balancing. It’s been awhile since a balance patch came out, but Arrowhead has confirmed that they are working but taking their time to make sure any changes are ultimately good decisions. While there’s no specified timeframe, the Helldivers 2 community manager has said they believe a fix for one of the most frustrating weapons in the game is coming in the “next big patch”.
One of the weapons fans believe is no good is the 500KG bomb. Players are of the belief that this needs a major buff. As for upcoming content, the arrival of the Illuminate alien race is highly anticipated, and leaks have provided a first look at the Illuminate gauntlet, meanwhile, another leak shows a four armed enemy from the Illuminate.
Yesh, there is a lot to anticipate in the future for Helldivers 2. New content is always appreciated, but fans are always discussing how to better balance the game. The spear has been massively complained about for months, but a fix is said to be coming.
Helldivers 2 spear fix coming in “next big patch”
As screenshotted by Reddit user uglisaft_, Helldivers 2 community manager, Twinbeard, has suggested that a fix for the spear is incoming. The community manager was asked for any update concerning a fix for the spear as it’s been suggested for a long time. In response, Twinbeard said, “I believe it is, yes. Fixed in the next big patch, that is”.
While fans are happy to know that a fix for the spear is incoming, the use of “next big patch” leaves uncertainty for when it might actually come. It’s possible that it could come with the next update Arrowhead is currently working on, but it could also come with the update before the next Premium Warbond as suggested by the Reddit community.
In addition, fans are also just tired and want a fix for the spear as soon as possible. As noted by fans in the Reddit replies, it was stated by former community manager, Spitz, that a fix for the spear had been tested and was incoming. Unfortunately, this message was relayed two months ago, and the spear is still a mess.
A lot of fans have replied with comments such as “believe it when I see it” and “Sure it is. Just like it was fixed last time. It’s been over a month since it was ‘fixed 17 days ago’”. Hopefully the long-awaited spear fix actually does arrive this time and soon.
If you’re unaware of what the issue with the spear is all about, since the game’s launch fans have complained about its lock-on. Players have reported several times on Reddit that the ‘Spear lock-on is broken‘. Per several Reddit posts, the issue is that it is inconsistent as sometimes it locks on without a hitch, meanwhile, many other times ‘it just keeps going back and forth between locking on and losing target’.
Fans have agreed that the ‘lock-on is completely messed up [as] it fails to lock on things that are stationary and not obstructed all the time’. This is a big problem as players have pointed out that a successful lock-on is paramount to the weapon’s efficiency. The spear ‘literally one shots bile titans,’ but this is only if it is a successfully locked-on headshot as ‘otherwise it just removes back armor and does 30% of its health’.
