Arguably the best aspect of Fortnite is all of the dream collaborations from Epic Games. The battle royale has previously collided with the worlds of Star Wars, MARVEL, DC Comics, and countless other iconic movie and video game properties. There is a lot set to happen in Chapter 5 Season 3, but beyond a reliable leaker claims Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts is planned to be happening.
Epic has shared the release date and time countdown for when Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3 will start for every region. Ahead of launch, an Epic co-founder has hinted at a game-changing feature for Season 3, and there has also been the confirmation of a crossover with Fallout.
While Season 3 should be a lot of fun, there’s no doubt Epic Games have more exciting plans up their sleeve for the future. And, if rumors are to be believed, we could be getting a crossover with Kingdom Hearts.
Insider says Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts is planned
An often reliable industry insider has said that Kingdom Hearts is planned to collaborate with many other IPs including Fortnite. On Twitter, MbKKssTBhz5 posted several replies to the announcement of Kingdom Hearts coming to Steam.
Through replies, MbKKssTBhz5 said “In February, someone sent me a message about Missing Link, KH4 and the Steam ports but I did not know the source at the time. But it is looking like there information is correct”.
According to the industry insider, the unfamiliar source told them, “Steam ports were in development since last summer. A company named BitGroove is working on Missing Link and the next beta test would be in April. KH4 has some small online features and looks very different from the first trailer. The codename is Quattro”.
As for where Fortnite becomes relevant, MbKKssTBhz5 was also told “more outside IP collaboration is planned for Kingdom Hearts series in the future. KH in other IPs that are not only from Square Enix”. Replying to the assumption of Fortnite x Kingdom Hearts, MbKKssTBhz5 said “I heard Fortnite was part of this initiative. But I didn’t have any other information on collaboration or date for the collaboration”.
It’s not official that a crossover with Kingdom Hearts will happen. Assuming it is planned and in the works, MbKKssTBhz5 hasn’t heard anything about a date so it could be a long way off. However, the prospect of Sora joining Fortnite alongside Donald, Goofy, and keyblades is definitely exciting. Just thinking about the possible skins should make anyone giddy.
