Fortnite players are hours away from another major update in Chapter 5 Season 2. Epic Games has worked on the v29.20 update for a while now and will release it shortly. Considering this is the second major update of the season, we expect big things from it. Due to this, we’ve prepared early patch notes that show some things that will come with the update.
Our early patch notes are based on both Fortnite leaks and official announcements from Epic. Since the latest update brought big balance changes, the development team will likely focus on other content, including the Avatar collaboration. Before we begin, however, check out our guides on how to unlock free skins in Fortnite and how to get cheaper V-Bucks.
The next Fortnite update will bring the Avatar collaboration
Epic Games has confirmed the Fortnite x Avatar collaboration, and it will arrive with the next update. However, it’s important to note that the collab will come out on Friday, April 12. Epic revealed this through the in-game feed, meaning that the new event won’t start right after the update. Instead, the content will be enabled a few days later, and according to leaks, it will include a new mini event pass.
Here are a few more things that will arrive with the collab:
- Map changes
- New Mythic items
- New cosmetics, including Aang and Katara
- Mini event pass for 1,000 V-Bucks
- Free cosmetic rewards
Besides the Avatar collab, Epic will add a lot of new content to Fortnite. This includes content for Rocket Racing and LEGO Fortnite, as well as new Battle Royale additions. These are some of the things we expect with the v29.20 update:
- Season 1 of Rocket Racing
- New free cosmetics for Rocket Racing
- New cosmetic items
- Tactical AR unvaulting
- Many bug fixes
- Titanflame Hades skin will be unlockable
- Quest rewards, such as Blazing Fire Cerberus, will have a correct unlocking requirement
- New Storyline and Weekly quests
These are the early Fortnite patch notes, and Epic will likely add a lot more content with the upcoming update. The focus of the v29.20 patch, however, will be the Avatar collaboration. Due to this, there is a chance that the content for Fortnite Battle Royale won’t be enabled by Friday.
