The Fortnite community loves to show off their best victories, basking in the glory of a job done well, impressively or a combination. However, this latest clip may be one of the most impressive victories we’ve seen in a while.

In a clip entitled “Most cinematic skybase you’ll ever see”, a user by the name of Infinity–Official shows off their relatively simple skybase – being as it is mostly made up of ramps going up, but in the time they had they’ve managed to get a lot of them. As they’re showing them off towards the end of the round, they’re fortunate enough to spot their final opponent below them, at which point they use the grapple to plummet towards the poor person hiding in a bush – at the same time, their squadmate fires down some explosives at the bush. Thanks to the timing of a pirouette just in time before hitting the ground to kill them and claim the Victory Royale as explosions go off around gives the finish a cinematic flair, as the OP self-describes it.

And it seems the community largely agrees. “OK that was sick” says chance_of_grain, echoing a similar statement by UncleRave. One word responses like “Lit” and “Nice” also pepper the responses to what is a very cool looking moment. Some are questioning why the final player didn’t do more in their position of course “Why didn’t he destroy the sky base, is he stupid?” asks ATF_killed_my_dog – “What is preventing someone from just sniping a supporting pillar and breaking it all?” asks Albireookami. But as is pointed out by other members of the community, they were probably busy watching all three members of the squad just in case.

The skybox strat has proven very popular already this week, with players finding the long-time strategy a key weapon in their arsenal. It’s likely to remain effective for a very long time – at least in the building friendly modes – but it’ll be interesting to see if any better counters start to arise. For now, we’ll just sit in awe of this excellent play.
