DOFUS Touch relaunches on the global stage with a new English Server

After being a big part of a lot of gamers – or at the very least my – school years with Dofus and Wakfu, Ankama sort of shied away from the global stage a bit before staging a big comeback with Waven last year. Now, the France-based developers are taking another step on their march to global domination, with a global relaunch of DOFUS Touch.

Originally launched back in 2016, DOFUS Touch plops you in the middle of the World of Twelve, with nothing but a pocketful of dreams and one goal; learn about the mysterious and powerful dragon eggs called Dofus. It’s an interesting world, and one whose lore feeds directly into the Wakfu Netflix series, if you like your world-building.

If you’ve ever played an Ankama game then you know they have some pretty interesting and stylish classes. Touch comes with an original cast of fifteen characters, each with their own special roles in battle. Command time itself with the Xelors, summon an army with Osamodas or become your own Iron Man with the Foggernauts.

After picking your class, always Ecaflip when available, it’s time to strike out into the Word of Twelve, and they call it that because there are at least twelve maps to play through. In reality, there are over 10,000 to explore, each with its own quests, items, and monsters. When you feel ready in the overworld, delve into more than 70 dungeons in search of legendary treasure, and the real big enemies.

As with all games in this fascinating little franchise, the real fun is found in the game’s cooperative combat, with players able to team up to tackle all threats. Far from just a one-two punch, classes can combine their skills to pull off combos using elemental and tactical spells, so you may need to think before thwacking a foe with your biggest hammer and hoping for the best.

DOFUS Touch is available to download free from the App Store and Google Play.
