What is Coming in D3 Season 30?

Diablo 3 Season 30, titled The Lords of Hell, introduces a new theme with remnants of the Prime and Lesser Evils in the form of Soul Shards. These shards, holding immense power, can be infused into players, allowing them to harness the essence of Hell’s Lords. There are seven unique Soul Shards, each based on one of the Lords of Hell. Players can equip one Prime Evil Shard in their helms and one Lesser Evil Shard in their weapons, each upgradeable three times using Hellforge Embers. These Embers, along with Soul Shards, drop throughout Sanctuary, with a higher chance from Bosses.

This season brings a rotation system for the Season theme, reintroducing the Lords of Hell theme from Season 25. The Soul Shards provide new powers and can significantly impact gameplay strategies. Prime Evil Shards like Sliver of Terror, Shard of Hatred, and Fragment of Destruction offer various abilities like increased damage output or movement speed enhancements. Lesser Evil Shards like Stain of Sin and Dregs of Lies add unique buffs, such as increased pet damage or cooldown reductions. However, Soul Shards and Hellforge Embers are exclusive to seasonal play and won’t transfer to non-seasonal characters after the season ends.

Season 30 also includes cosmetic rewards like the Conqueror Set, portrait frames, and a ghastly All Hallow’s pennant. Completing the Season Journey up to the Conqueror tier grants players extra Stash tabs, with a maximum of five. Various challenges like completing a level 70 Nephalem Rift on Torment XIII within five minutes or leveling three Legendary Gems to 55 are part of the Season Journey rewards. Additionally, Haedrig’s Gift offers Class Sets for completing certain chapters, with specific sets for each class.
