Developer confirms Robocop: Rogue City is no longer coming to this platform

Robocop: Rogue City once had Nintendo branding on its marketing, proudly displaying that it would eventually end up on Nintendo Switch. Now, it seems like any mention of a Nintendo release has been removed from their branding. An exchange on Facebook was also seen where the developer denied having had plans to release it for Nintendo.

It seems like Teyon, the developer for Robocop: Rogue City has quietly canceled a Nintendo Switch version of their game (Thanks NintendoLife). Instead of making a big announcement, the team has removed Nintendo Switch branding from the website and advertisements.

We even have this advertisement below to show the changes, courtesy of a keen-eyed fan.

As you can see, Nintendo Switch has been removed and the other logos have moved over. The biggest confirmation is directly from the Facebook page. A member of the Facebook group for the game asked about the status of the Nintendo Switch version. Instead of directly stating that it had been canceled, they account said they “don’t have any plans for a Nintendo Switch release.”

This makes it seem like the member made up a Nintendo Switch version themselves, but we have the proof that one had been promised to fans through advertisements. We’d guess the company didn’t want to make a big deal of canceling that port.

This could mean that it will come to the next Nintendo Switch. There are many rumors about a Nintendo Switch 2, so it’d make sense for the developer to release the game on the newer console if it is indeed coming out. It would also explain why the company wouldn’t want to say that they won’t make a version of the Nintendo Switch. It would be confusing for fans, so it’s better to just announce the version when the Nintendo Switch 2 releases.

Only time will tell, but it looks like it’s definitely not coming to the Nintendo Switch.
