Cygames Invites Fans to Get Ready for Granblue Fantasy: Relink by Watching the Anime for Free

Cygames announced via press release that it’s making the first seven episodes of the Granblue Fantasy anime available for free to help fans get ready for Granblue Fantasy: Relink.

While Relink is pretty much a stand-alone game, Cygames explains that you can enjoy it even more by learning about the relationship between protagonists Gran and Lyria, and why they left their home island.

The first seven episodes of the anime are a pretty approachable way to get acquainted with the characters and the setting, which is why Cygames decided to provide us with this treat.

You can find them on YouTube in a dedicated playlist for a limited time. They will be gone on February 4, but there’s plenty of time to watch all the episodes.

It’s worth mentioning that they come with English subtitles (you need to click on the “cc” button to activate them), on top of French, German, Brazilian Portuguese, and Spanish, so you can understand them even if you don’t speak Japanese.

Do keep in mind that this is not the whole anime series, but Cygames likely believed that the first seven episodes were all that’s needed to get acquainted with the franchise’s main elements.

It’s certainly easier than starting the mobile game, which has been going on since March 2014 and isn’t exactly the most approachable unless you’re ready to sink quite a bit of time and effort into it.

Granblue Fantasy: Relink is releasing on February 1, 2024, for PS5, PS4, and PC. If you prefer to grab a physical copy, you can purchase it on Amazon.

If you’d like to enjoy a taste of the game, you’ll soon be able to enjoy a demo releasing sometime this month, but only on PS5 and PS4.

You can also watch plenty of gameplay from a few weeks back and an earlier character reveal focusing on Ghandagoza.

Another way to gain access to the Grannblue Fantasy franchise is the recently released fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, which appears to be rather successful.
