Today CD Projekt RED announced that those who want to jump onto the Cyberpunk 2077 bandwagon will be able to take advantage of a convenient all-in-one package with the Ultimate Edition.

As you may imagine, the upcoming edition includes both the game and the popular expansion Phantom Liberty, albeit the price has not been announced yet.

What we do know, is that it’ll be released in just two weeks, on December 5.

As you can see above, there is good news for those who enjoy physical disks, as the Ultimate Edition will also be available in a physical boxed version in select markets. For the moment, these markets have not been announced.

This is pretty much the cherry on top of one of the most interesting video game industry redemption stories in the past several years. The original Cyberpunk 2077 followed years of hype with a rocky launch that went as far as tarnishing the reputation of its developers.

Yet, CD Projekt RED did not give up on its game and kept a large team at work on it when most developers would have just moved on to the next project, releasing many sizable updates that started really turning things around with version 1.5 and the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S native release in February 2022.

Later that year, the awesome anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners by the popular Studio Trigger reignited the hype of the game, and earlier this year update 2.0, and the expansion Phantom Liberty launched to rave reviews, restoring CD Projekt’s reputation with most gamers and achieving considerable commercial success.

It’ll certainly be interesting to see how far Cyberpunk 2077 will go in terms of sales now that it’s without a doubt one of the best RPGs on the market, with reviews on Steam that have turned almost all the way around to “very positive.”

Redemption stories don’t happen often in this industry, but when they do, it feels really good to write them.
