Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty 2.01 patch coming soon – here’s what’s changing

CD Projekt Red has declared it’ll soon be deploying the first patch since the launch of expansion Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty in the very near future.

Although the expansion only released this week – check out our Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty review here – the RPG’s developer’s are already hard at work on the first major set of fixes and tweaks for the game to tackle a few outstanding issues, and it’s already let users know some of the highlights they can expect whenever the patch arrives. It’s not a huge list of changes just yet, but it does include mending an issue where V could die in the opening Heist mission if your FPS was too low. If you’ve not gotten the huge pre-expansion patch yet, check out the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 2.0 patch notes here.

The rest of the patch notes will be revealed ahead of the patch’s launch – but for now here’s the initial list of fixes care of CD Projekt Red.

Cyberpunk 2077 Phantom Liberty 2.01 patch notes (Preliminary)

  • The distorted effect caused by selecting a specific dialogue option when talking to Johnny at the end of Automatic Love will no longer persist on the screen.
  • V will no longer die in The Heist by falling through the elevator when riding to the 42nd floor with low FPS.
  • Fixed an issue where the UI could show controller inputs when playing with keyboard and mouse.
  • Made it possible to properly switch to arms cyberware by cycling through weapons.
  • Gig: Breaking News will be properly triggered after approaching the quest area.
  • Vehicle radio volume will be adjusted so it’s not too quiet when compared to other sounds in the game.
  • Addressed the issue of corrupted saves on PlayStation by increasing the maximum save file size limit. Note: this won’t fix the saves corrupted before the update. If you’re experiencing the issue, keep a working save (e.g. resave it as manual save) till 2.01 arrives.
  • Performance improvements for both PC and consoles, especially in the Dogtown area.

There’s no ETA on this patch yet, but we’ll update once we hear more – plus the full patch notes as and when they’re revealed.
