Can You Catch a Shiny Eevee in Pokemon Go?
I can confirm that it is possible for you to catch a shiny Eevee whenever you encounter one in the wild while playing Pokemon Go. The chances of Eevee appearing in its shiny version outside of events is much lower when finding it randomly in the wild, so trying to catch it during specific events will always be your best opportunity to see it as a shiny Pokemon.
When you do catch a shiny Eevee, you might want to reserve it for one of the evolutions you have yet to unlock in Pokemon Go. However, if the Eevee you catch is particularly powerful, I would recommend evolving it into the strongest evolution it has in Pokemon Go. There are some preferred choices, depending on if you want to use it in the Great, Ultra, or Masters League, but I always recommend Umbreon. The other choice might be Sylveon, primarily because of how strong it can be against Dragon-type Pokemon.
There are certain requirements you need to meet if you want Eevee to evolve into a specific form. Although there is a way to guarantee it by giving Eevee a particular name in Pokemon Go, you can only do that once per account, and you might not want to waste it, or you may have already used it. Some of them are randomized, such as Flareon, Vaporeon, and Jolteon, but the others are much easier to hit, and that makes getting Umbreon significantly easier.
When Eevee appears as an increased spawn during certain events, such as during Spotlight Hours, catching a shiny version can be much easier. However, the odds of a shiny appearing do not increase, but because of the frequency that Eevee spawns, you have much a better chance of encountering one in Pokemon Go.
