Best Party Games On The Nintendo Switch

Like its predecessor, the Nintendo Wii, the Nintendo Switch has been advertised as being a console that can be enjoyed by all ages while also getting the family involved. This has made the handheld console that can also be docked into a player’s TV a go-to activity when having parties.

Since its release in 2017, the Nintendo Switch has become home to many party titles some from Nintendo themselves with others being created by varying developers. With many fun activities in store but only so much time to play them, these are by far the best party games players and their friends should enjoy on the Nintendo Switch.

These switch party games are usually titles made by the developer Nintendo for their Nintendo Switch console. However, there are plenty of other titles to be enjoyed on the handheld that can be docked to the TV too. Therefore, these are by far the best switch party games players should be considering playing during this winter season, to truly get into the competitive Christmas spirit. While some of these games are to be enjoyed locally with everyone on the couch, others can even be enjoyed online too.

12 Golf With Your Friends

Mini-golf is an incredibly popular activity that many groups of friends will take part in together, Golf With Your Friends takes this enjoyment and puts it on the Nintendo Switch. There are multiple themed courses and three game modes for players to enjoy. Besides this, Golf With Your Friends also provides various Power-ups to help or hinder players on the course.

What makes Golf With Your Friends even better is that it can be enjoyed with up to twelve people. Thankfully, this doesn’t mean that the player must have twelve Joy-Con controllers to use, as every player can share the two available. Although average reviews, golfing games make surprisingly great party titles as all players compete for a possible hole-in-one.

11 Gang Beasts

Sometimes the most fun a group of friends can have can be the chance to brawl with each other. This can be achieved through Gang Beasts. On a single console up to four players can take on each other in Gang Beasts; however, online this number is doubled to eight.

With multiple maps to compete on, players can either take part in the slapstick comedy battles and be the last person standing or team up with friends to compete against others. Overall, even with better-than-average reviews, Gang Beasts is a silly party game players are sure to enjoy with plenty of maps to fight on.

10 30-In-1 Game Collection: Volume 1

There is nothing better than a game that is made up of multiple games and that’s exactly what players can find in the 30-In-1 Game Collection. This title has something that every player would be interested in as part of the fun of this party game is deciding what to try first.

While some titles can only be enjoyed single-player, over half the games included in this collection can be played with up to four people. These games also vary in genres, though all of them are enjoyable party games for players to compete against others in. With so much variety of what to play, the 30-in-1 Game Collection is a must.

9 Nintendo Switch Sports

Wii Sports was a much-loved title of the Nintendo Wii with many players rushing to it with either friends or family to compete at the different sporting events. In 2022, the sporting game returned for players as Nintendo released Nintendo Switch Sports. This party title included plenty of new sports for players to enjoy that did interest some.

However, there were players who were disappointed to see that some of their favorites hadn’t made it to the final product. Thankfully, due to a recent update, Golf from Wii Sports finally made its way onto the handheld consoles, so players can beat their opponents at it once again.

8 Moving Out

Metascore: 74

Any players that have had to move house will understand the stresses of packing up their things and taking them to the new location, sometimes it’s easier to just hire a removal service. In Moving Out, the player and up to three friends are the removal service.

In this fun physics-filled game, players will be tasked with removing pieces of furniture from various homes. As they progress further in this party title, the levels will start getting harder and players will have to solve puzzles before they can get to the furniture. With the levels gradually getting harder, Moving Out can have its stressful moments which puts the party game down a few places.

7 WarioWare: Move It!

WarioWare: Move It! Captures the quirkiness of the old WarioWare titles well while also making the most of the motion controls of the Nintendo Switch console. The art style of each mini-game is phenomenal, as well as having a mix of solo games and multiplayer ones that can be enjoyed with others.

Nintendo continues to make incredible titles that need to be enjoyed with friends, as WarioWare only gets better when the Joy-Con is handed to another.

6 The Jackbox Party Pack

Metascore: 78

With party in its name, it’s unsurprising to see that Jackbox can also be enjoyed on the Nintendo Switch. What makes this title so great is that the Switch is only the platform that displays the game, but players can use their mobile phones to get involved in the various mini-games.

The Jackbox Party Pack also has plenty of different packs for players to try out with one of the best being The Jackbox Party Pack 3. In this version, players can enjoy five different games with one of the most interesting being Trivia Murder Party, which will put the players’ knowledge to the test. While an incredible party game, this doesn’t actually utilize the console’s hardware and is instead a means to showcase the game. This, therefore, has left this party title lower on the list.

5 Overcooked

Although still enjoyable, Overcooked can be quite a stressful experience for a group of friends as they race against the clock in this party game to serve meals to the guests of their varying restaurants.

As players advance across the levels and are tasked with preparing different meals the kitchens they must cook in will start filling with other challenges besides preparing food; this keeps many players on their toes as they must work together in the hope of not only finishing the levels but also getting a great score. While the game can be stressful at times, with various holiday-themed DLCs to explore, this party game is prepared for every season.

4 Mario Party Superstars

As mentioned, Nintendo themselves has created plenty of exciting party games over the years with one classic franchise returning once again. Mario Party has been a long-running title for Nintendo with Mario Party Superstars providing that enjoyment for players on the Nintendo Switch.

It’s as simple as rolling a die and making it around interesting boards in the hope of collecting enough stars to be the winner. Players then also compete against their friends in various mini-games themed around the map used to give themselves a better chance against their opponents. As the 12th installment in the Mario Party franchise, a player can’t go wrong with this party game as it’s only gotten better over the years.

3 Fall Guys

Fall Guys is an incredible party title that can be played online with three other friends. Players control adorable bean-like characters as they attempt to make it to the end of a bright and colorful crash course. In between the typical races that will see some players pushed out of the final, are team-based games, and puzzle ones too.

There can only be one winner unless players are playing in teams to earn the Fall Guys crown. During certain holidays there is even new courses to compete on that are sure to give players a new challenge.

2 Among Us

Metascore: 85

Among Us is another classic party title that players can even play on the Nintendo Switch. While it may be free on phones, some players may prefer to use the Nintendo Switch controls instead. While playing alone with players online, they can safely have among Us on the big screen, but while playing with others in the same room it will be safer to keep it handheld.

Among Us has improved greatly over recent years with even more roles for players to fulfill, as well as other game modes, which means it doesn’t have to be the players’ typical game of Among Us.

1 Mario Kart 8 Deluxe

Unsurprisingly, one of the best party games on the Nintendo Switch has to be Mario Kart. This franchise like many others that include Mario has been a great success across various Nintendo platforms, and it continues to be this way with Mario Kart 8.

The title has received plenty of new content since its original release that has not only provided players with new characters to play but also plenty of interesting tracks to compete against their friends on. Even without its DLC Mario Kart 8 continues to be one of the best for players.
