Dead By Daylight: The Best Killer Perks, Ranked

Dead by Daylight is a 4v1 multiplayer horror experience where killers kill and survivors survive. Here are the best killer perks in the game.

Survivors may not be aware of these interactions at first, which may catch them off guard and give the killer the upper hand. Killers may be surprised to see how well two perks pair together and still have two additional perks to add. These pairings aim to give killers in Dead by Daylight new insight and reveal how certain perks can pair well together.

1 All Seeing Eye

I’m All Ears & Lethal Pursuer

Dredge lethal pursuer survivor auras

I’m All Ears

Reveals a survivor’s aura for 6 seconds after they perform a rushed vault within 48 meters of the killer. Perk has a cooldown of 40 seconds.

Lethal Pursuer

Reveals all survivor auras for 9 seconds at the start of a match. Extends all aura reading abilities by 2 additional seconds.

Survivors all too often create large distances during a chase or vault to an area that is difficult to navigate as a killer. I’m All Ears gives killers a large advantage when survivors vault, as they often expect to be hidden for a few seconds, but their revealed aura may betray them.

Combined with Lethal Pursuer, killers gain an extra 2 seconds on I’m All Ears, giving an 8-second aura reveal whenever a survivor performs a rushed vault. With 8 seconds of aura reveal, killers can have an advantage in predicting where a survivor is headed after they lose line of sight on a survivor.

2 Prolong The Trial

No Way Out & Deadlock

Exit gates christmas event snow map

No Way Out

Blocks exit gates when first interacted with for 12 seconds. Gain a token after hooking a survivor for the first time. Each token extends the duration by 12 seconds. The maximum duration is 60 seconds.

Deadlock

When a generator is complete, the entity blocks the generator with the most progress for 30 seconds. The aura of the generator is colored white while it is blocked.

Against a team of coordinated survivors, killers will notice that their games end too early. These two perks aim to give the killer more time to tackle downing and hooking survivors by prolonging the game. These perks work from the mid-game to the end game and work best when killers fully utilize No Way Out by hooking each survivor once.

Deadlock will reveal which generator survivors are working on and give the killer a chance to interrupt and further slow down the survivor’s momentum. These two perks work great for killers such as the Shape, who suffers from a weak early game.

3 Strong Shoulders

Mad Grit & Agitation

Mad Grit

Removes the cooldown of basic attacks when carrying survivors. Temporarily halts wiggle meter for 4 seconds after landing a successful basic attack.

Agitation

Adds 12 meters to terror radius while carrying a survivor, while increasing movement speed by 18%.

All too often, survivors will rush in to take a hit for their teammate in hopes of helping the other survivor wiggle free from the killer’s grasp. Survivors also try to bait a basic attack from the killer in hopes of wasting their time. Agitation increases the killer’s movement speed while carrying a survivor and gives them a chance to catch a survivor off guard.

Slow and meticulous, The Trapper must lure Survivors into his web in order to win in Dead by Daylight. To that end, these two builds can help.

Mad Grit turns attacking survivors into a benefit while carrying survivors. Killers no longer need to contemplate rushing to the nearest hook or attacking the nearby survivor. These perks work well for the Trapper as he can use the extra speed bonus to hook survivors in a more favorable location.

4 Generator Barge In

Surge & Surveillance

Surge

Downing a survivor with a basic attack causes all generators within 32 meters to explode and regress by 8%.

Surveillance

The Aura of regressing generators is highlighted in white. Generators interfered with while regressing will be highlighted in yellow for 16 seconds. Increases generator repair audio cues by 8 meters.

Keeping generators from being completed is half the goal of a killer. Surveillance gives killers an easier time assessing the map and knowing which generators they should head to and interrupt. Generators highlighted in yellow are a dead giveaway to killers.

Surge pairs perfectly with surveillance, as killers may get the jump on a survivor working on a generator and cause the nearby generators to lose progress and begin regressing. This setup works best in smaller maps.

5 Exploding Generators

Pop Goes The Weasel & Call Of Brine

Survivors working on generator with approaching killer

Pop Goes the Weasel

Activates for 45 seconds after hooking a survivor. Kicking a generator while the perk is active causes it to regress instantly by 30%. The perk deactivates after damaging a generator.

Call of Brine

Activates after damaging a generator for 60 seconds. Generator regression is increased to 125%, and good skill checks on affected generators give a loud noise notification.

With how fast survivors finish generators, killers not focused on guarding the generators may be at a disadvantage. These two perks allow killers to severely impact generator progress while still keeping a strong focus on downing survivors through chases.
