Behaviour Interactive Has No Plans for a Dead By Daylight Sequel

In a recent interview with MP1st, Dead by Daylight developer, Behaviour Interactive, has revealed that the studio has no plans for a sequel to this popular asymmetrical survival horror title. The developers emphasized that they see no reason to be working on Dead by Daylight 2 as they are focusing on their core game and its expansion.

Behaviour Interactive has been transparent with its plans for Dead by Daylight over the past few months. In March 2023, the developer announced its collaboration with American film and television production companies Atomic Monster and Blumhouse to bring Dead by Daylight to the big screen in a movie adaptation.

In May 2023, Behaviour Interactive revealed that two additional projects, expanding the Dead by Daylight world, are in the works. One of these projects is a brand new single-player interactive story title in development with Supermassive Games, known for Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology, and The Quarry. The story is set outside of The Entity’s Realm and follows an entirely new cast of characters. The second title is revealed to be a multiplayer PVE game with teams of up to 4 players, developed by Midwinter Entertainment, who recently joined Behaviour Interactive in the summer of 2022.

Behaviour Interactive has consistently enriched the Dead by Daylight experience by introducing new content and exciting collaborations with other beloved IPs. The ongoing support that fans have for Dead by Daylight, which originally launched in 2016, has challenged the typical expectations for sequels to a title that has been around for nearly a decade. Considering these developments, it is clear that Dead By Daylight 2 is not in the pipeline.

For those yet to venture into The Fog, Dead by Daylight is currently available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam, and Epic Games Store.
