Baldur’s Gate 3 Update Fixes Unintentionally Hilarious Gale Romance Bug And More

Larian has released a minor new Baldur’s Gate 3 update, and it’s fixing some rather hilarious bugs that have arisen as a result of the game’s many complex interlocking systems.

The principal bug being fixed this time around is one involving Gale’s romance.

f you’ve ever been staring into those devilishly handsome eyes and then been dragged into a featureless abyss while romancing him, that should now be fixed. As Larian says, sometimes everything melting away during an intense romance isn’t intentional.

You should no longer get stuck in conversations in Baldur’s Gate 3.

Another issue that’s been fixed in this Baldur’s Gate 3 update is the tendency for some conversations to get stuck, resulting in being unable to continue.

Some of the patch notes for this update are pretty amusing, too; for example, you can now “use soaps encountered in savegames before Patch 4”. Hooray!

Other fixes include dominated followers correctly following the party after loading a save, as well as citizens in Baldur’s Gate “jittering about the place or not using their proper animations”.

You can check out the full Baldur’s Gate 3 patch notes here. This isn’t a super-consequential update, but it should still fix some vexing issues you might have been experiencing.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a pretty immersive RPG, so encountering bugs can be a little irritating.

If you’ve somehow avoided the Baldur’s Gate 3 hype, it’s the third in the long-running and highly-acclaimed Baldur’s Gate series of RPGs.

Unlike the first two, which were created by BioWare, this one was developed by Divinity: Original Sin 2 studio Larian.

The game took home the Game of the Year award at this year’s Golden Joysticks and received critical acclaim on release, not least from our very own Erren Van Duine, who awarded it a very impressive 9.5 out of 10 in her review.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available right now on PC and PlayStation 5. An Xbox version of the game is also arriving sometime in December, with a full release date due to be announced at this year’s Game Awards.
