Apex Legends Players Want One Frustrating Legend Combo Nerfed

Highlights

  • Finding the right team comp is often crucial in Apex Legends; some combos like Revenant and Conduit are favored.
  • Players raised concerns about the OP nature of Revenant’s movement and Ultimate in Season 20, especially with Conduit.
  • Respawn Entertainment faces challenges balancing Legends like Conduit and Revenant.

Some Apex Legends players have become frustrated with squads running Revenant and Conduit in the battle royale. While Season 20 of Apex Legends has been well-received in many respects, the community believes that some of the game’s Legends are overpowered, especially when used together.

As a team-based game featuring characters with role-specific abilities, finding the right team composition can often be a pivotal factor in winning and losing competitive games in Apex Legends. With a roster containing 24 different Legends, the opportunities to synergize with teammates are immense. However, some combos are better than others, and one of these pairings that has become frequently used is Revenant and Conduit.

These upgrades make playable characters even more powerful in Apex: Legends.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as artmorte pointed out what they thought were the problems with Revevant in Season 20. According to the user, his movement ability and Ultimate, which gives him an overshield, are too powerful in the current meta. While the post received hundreds of upvotes, some users in the comments went further, noting they believed that the issues with Revenant were compounded by Conduit. By using these characters together, a Revenant player could push with their Ultimate, gaining 75 more HP, and then receive additional shield generation from Conduit’s Tactical if they take damage.

In addition, players noted that this combo felt even more powerful early in the game with the changes to the EVO Shield system in Apex Legends. With body armor now removed from floor loot, players no longer can get blue and purple shields early on, giving a Revenant in Ultimate form a distinct advantage.

While Season 20 has been problematic for some due to Conduit and Revenant, it is worth noting that Respawn Entertainment has faced challenges balancing these Legends since their respective releases. For example, Conduit already received multiple changes at the start of Season 20 to attempt to balance her kit, such as a decrease in shield generation rate and an increase in cooldown time, along with nerfs to her Ultimate. Furthermore, Revenant was hit with multiple nerfs in the time following his rework in Season 18 of Apex Legends. Despite these past changes, many in the community believe that more needs to be done to balance the Legends.
