An Animal Crossing fan has created some adorable gardens out of Nintendo DS shells. The series of creations has drawn attention from fellow Animal Crossing players and highlights some of the most popular villagers in the series.
Animal Crossing fans have plenty of opportunities for creativity within the game, especially with the release of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. Whether fans are creating a perfect island or just prefer spending time with their friendly town villagers, some are content to just enjoy the games. However, many also choose to take their fondness of the series into the real world, creating unique and clever pieces of art to celebrate their favorite elements of the games.

Such is the case with Reddit user Raeobeart, who shared some of their latest creations with fellow fans on the Animal Crossing subreddit. The six gardens are made out of replacement Nintendo DS shells, with each featuring some of the Animal Crossing series’ cutest villagers. Mabel, Molly, Marshal, Isabelle, Judy, and Dom are celebrated in the creative pieces of art. Each one stands on top of the DS’ lower screen, surrounded by grasses and complimentary-colored flowers and succulent plants. While these were the only villagers demonstrated this time around, these are only the latest Animal Crossing gardens created by Raeobeart, with other villagers having been featured previously.
Animal Crossing Fans are Charmed and Relieved
Fans are extremely fond of the Nintendo DS gardens, though some also breathed a sigh of relief at learning that actual Nintendo DS systems weren’t gutted to create these. Several fans expressed interest in buying one of the shown gardens, while others wondered if Raeobeart would be willing to create new ones based on their fellow villagers, to which Raeobeart encouraged them to reach out via private message. One also joked about how Isabelle towers over her fellow villagers.
While at least one Animal Crossing game has come to most of the modern Nintendo consoles, fans still have their favorites. For some fans, that’s Animal Crossing: Wild World, the Nintendo DS version of the series. The game is rapidly approaching its twentieth anniversary, and can no longer be played online by normal means. For those ready to move on, it remains to be seen what the next entry to the Animal Crossing franchise will be. Although the game has received spin-offs and mobile entries in recent history, many players are still looking forward to the seemingly inevitable reveal of the next main title, which could end up launching alongside the Nintendo Switch 2.
