Stardew Valley still remains massively popular and it is set to finally get the long-anticipated 1.6 update. This has been teased ever since last year, but we only have to wait one more day for it to arrive on PC. In the build-up to its release, some of the Stardew Valley update 1.6 patch notes have been shared to reveal significant bug and glitch fixes along with other improvements.

There is lots to anticipate with the upcoming update. Stardew Valley 1.6 will make it easier and more powerful to use mods, and it will also introduce new content concerning festivals and romance options. This is the final update for the game as Concerned Ape turns its focus to their new game, Haunted Chocolatier.

Stardew Valley 1.6 is coming out on PC first, but it will eventually arrive on console. If you have the luxury of playing on PC, below are the patch notes so far for non-spoiler improvements.

Stardew Valley 1.6 patch notes

Below are all the Stardew Valley update 1.6 patch notes so far:

  • You can now drink mayonnaise
  • Jelly, pickles, wines, and juices are now color based on the ingredient item
  • Spouses now have seven day “honeymoon” period after marriage which prevents them from laying in bed all day due to being upset
  • Reduced the amount of time you need to push against a pet before they starting shaking and let you pass through (1.5 -75 seconds)
  • Extended the area effect of downward facing melee attacks (for every weapon including clubs and daggers – doesn’t affect axes, pickaxes etc.)
  • Fixed bug where it was faster to harvest left-to-right rather than right-to-left (update will make them both equally fast)
  • Cutting down a fruit tree now yields the appropriate fruit sapling. If the tree is mature (i.e. the fruit quality is basic), it will yield a sapling with the same quality as its fruit. The higher the quality, the faster the sapling will mature when replanted.

These are all of the patch notes so far shared on the official ConcernedApe Twitter account. Of course, this is not everything that will be added to the game, these are just a few teasers from the developer.

All of the above-mentioned quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes are significant, especially the fix to the notorious bug where a newlywed partner would keep retreating to bed. Aside from bug fixes, the new content includes two unique major festivals, two new mini-festivals, more craft recipes and items, a new farm type, and lots more.

The release date for Stardew Valley update 1.6 on PC is March 19th. It is coming to console, but there’s no launch day as of writing.
