Call of Duty Black Ops 6 has long been the rumored next entry in the series, following the double release from the Modern Warfare series in 2022 and 2023. This will mark the first new entry in the Black Ops series since Black Ops Cold War in 2020. Although the game hasn’t been officially announced by Activision, we have just gotten our first look at Black Ops 6 in an unexpected way.
A new website promoting Call of Duty Black Ops 6 was spotted first by Charlie Intel titled “The Truth Lies.” The site currently just plays the same as seen in the X post below on an old TV that coincidentally only goes to Channel 6.
In the footage, we see two people at night dressed in dark-colored clothes with headlamps. The pair are then scaling a mountain with large pieces of cloth before escaping in a car with the faces of its occupants blurred out. The footage then cuts to daytime when it is revealed that blindfolds have been placed on the four Presidents at Mount Rushmore which states “The Truth Lies.” The video then cuts off and begins looping on the TV.
Although a release date for Call of Duty Black Ops 6, rumored to be titled ‘Gulf War’, hasn’t been revealed yet, it is expected that the game will launch on October 25th, 2024. One of the biggest questions on everyone’s mind right now is, “Will Black Ops 6 launch on Xbox Game Pass?” It is expected that the game will launch on Game Pass on day 1, although a price increase could be coming to allow this. While it is a major selling point of the service, the thought has to be going through Microsoft’s mind that they will be losing out on a lot of revenue.
Call of Duty Black Ops 6 is expected to be officially announced before the end of May, with the name reveal, first trailer, and more being shown. As with other entries in the series, there will be various Alphas and Betas ahead of its release to allow players to check out the game early, but this could be the first year in a long time that Sony doesn’t receive early access before other platforms.
