Grand Theft Auto 6 is coming. Unfortunately, it’s not arriving this year, but it is pegged to finally release in 2025. The wait has been long and agonizing, and it’s only going to be more painful as this year trickles along. While impatiently waiting for more news and another trailer, all fans can do is simply speculate about what will and won’t be in the game. Fans have many ideas about what they do and don’t want to see, and the implementation of a beloved Red Dead Redemption 2 feature has GTA 6 fans split.

While the only official trailer right now is less than two minutes long, internet sleuths and fans have still discovered lots of details. The voice actor for Lucia has most likely been discovered by sleuths, meanwhile, fans obsessing over every microscopic detail are amazed at the insanely realistic body physics. Not only is the trailer incredible, but the grand expectations it sets are realistic as a former Rockstar developer says all of the scenes are done in-game.

Everything about the trailer from December looks amazing, but we’re desperate to see and find out more. The Grand Theft Auto community is engaged in discussing wishlists pretty much every day, and the idea of implementing Red Dead Redemption 2’s best feature has fans split.

GTA 6 fans split over Red Dead Redemption 2 honor system

Grand Theft Auto fans have discussed whether the beloved honor system from Red Dead Redemption 2 should be implemented in GTA 6. The honor system is arguably the best feature in RDR2 as it changes how the world and NPCs react to Arthur Morgan, and it also impacts dialogue in cut-scenes and Arthur’s friendship with the merrymen of Dutch’s gang of misfits.

Fans are discussing wishlists for the new upcoming Grand Theft Auto every day, and the honor system in GTA 6 is an idea. Brought to the table by user LasseDeluxe, the idea is that NPCs will post about your behavior on social media which, if bad, would result in ramifications such as NPCs fearing you and police recognizing you even when unwanted. Another idea posed was a relationship system between Jason and Lucia where low and high honor would affect gameplay, missions, dialogue, cut-scenes, and the story.

While not identical to the honor system in Red Dead Redemption 2, fans have brought up ideas such as a notoriety meter. This coincides with the idea of a ‘fame system’. Again, this would change how Vice City and its population react to Jason and Lucia with more fame resulting in more appreciation with NPCs while a more infamous reputation would provide a higher standing with gangs and outlaws.

On the flip side, there are people against the idea of an honor system entirely. The argument is that an honor system fits Red Dead Redemption 2 because its story was about the redemption of Arthur Morgan. Meanwhile, although we don’t know the story of GTA 6 yet, the Grand Theft Auto series is a chaotic playground of toys where players get to cause as much mayhem as they want without any storyline consequences. Many fans simply want to be able to punch and massacre droves of NPCs without worrying about honor or anything equivalent.

Unfortunately, we are yet to see any official gameplay from Rockstar so details about features are slim at best. Fans have also discussed wanting overhauled police AI more aching to Red Dead Redemption 2, and fans have discussed a new car feature that makes perfect sense.
