Destiny 2’s Dawning Event is currently underway, and players are rushing to get their hands on some sweet holiday loot. Eva Levante has returned to the tower and brought the Guardians an oven. With this oven, Guardians bake cookies to gift to their favorite NPCs. How to obtain Essence of Dawning in Destiny 2
Essence of Dawning can be acquired by doing any activity, including Gambit, Strikes, and Patrols. The amounts differ, but in my testing, a regular Vanguard Strike gives about 16 Essence of Dawning upon completion. Eva also has some specific weekly quests that can earn the player additional Essence. However, once complete, you’ll have to wait for the weekly reset for more.
Essence of Dawning is one of the most straightforward ingredients to obtain during the event, as all Guardians need to do is go about their business as usual.
The Season of the Wish has introduced The Coil to Destiny 2, and it’s a great place to farm Essence of Dawning as it showers Guardians with rewards, including Season of the Wish exclusives. Other game modes that can yield more Essence of Dawning include the Crucible and even Lost Sectors. While you can certainly ‘min-max’ and go for events you can complete quickly, you should have plenty of time to collect all you need through regular gameplay. At the time of writing, an end date for the Dawning event hasn’t been confirmed. That said, the last event ended at the start of January, and it’s safe to bet that this will be the same for the Dawning 2023.
