The Pokemon GO Catch Mastery: Ice 2023 event starts on December 9 at 10 AM and ends after a few hours on December 9 at 8 PM Local Time. The event presents several wild spawns and Research Quests. While players can only encounter Shiny Snorunt and Shiny Bergmite in the wild, one must complete several Research tasks to encounter Shiny Cryogonal. The Ice-type Cryogonal has a solid maximum CP of 3163 with an outstanding stat spread of 190 ATK, 218 DEF, and 190 STA, making it a fantastic counter against other Ice-type monsters.
How To Get Shiny Cryogonal In Pokemon GO
The Catch Mastery: Ice 2023 event offers multiple Research quests; free Timed Research, paid Timed Research, and a Field Research quest. The free and paid Timed Research quest has identical tasks and rewards. Completing the Research tasks offers different Pokemon GO items as well as a chance to encounter a Shiny Cryogonal. But one must remember that the Shiny encounter isn’t guaranteed; while some players may encounter a Shiny Cryogonal, others might not.

The Catch Mastery: Ice Field Research comprises 3 different tasks; all 3 tasks focus on the Pokeball throwing skills in Pokemon GO. Completing each task offers a Cryogonal encounter with the possibility of being Shiny.

Catch Mastery Timed Research: Shiny Cryogonal
While Pokemon GO trainers have only 3 chances to encounter Cryogonal as the Field Research reward, the event-exclusive Catch Mastery Timed Research offers 40 guaranteed encounters with Cryogonal. Players can claim two variants of the Catch Mastery Timed Research, a free variant and a paid variant for US $2.00.
Both the paid and free Timed Research have the same tasks and rewards, so Shiny hunters can also get the paid Timed Research. Adding the 40 encounters from the free Timed Research and 40 encounters from the paid Timed Research makes a total of 80 Cryogonal encounters; this can significantly help catch up with Cryogonal’s Shiny odds. On top of that, the Pokemon GO event also offers an increased chance to encounter a Shiny Cryogonal.
