A modern urban fantasy TTRPG is getting reprinted. Monte Cook Games, the studio most well known for their Cypher system games and the Numenera series, is bringing back one of their most sought-after RPGs with Invisible Sun: Return of the Black Cube on Backerkit.

According to the Invisible Sun: Return of the Black Cube campaign page, the project is all about producing physical copies of the visionary RPG by Monte Cook. In addition, the campaign will contain a new supplement called The Wellspring.
Invisible Sun was developed in 2018. It features an original surrealist fantasy setting packed with secrets and magic.
It is a world where player characters realize the normal world is not real, and step into a new plane of existence called the Actuality. They learn the secrets of magic, how to shape reality, visit breathtaking places, and discover unsettling truths about this dreamlike world.
The original physical release was substantive, containing four core rulebooks covering 600+ pages of material, thousands of cards, tons of tokens and trackers, cloth maps, handouts, and props. All of it is packaged together in a black cube weighing over 30 pounds.
Despite the large size and substantial price, physical copies of Invisible Sun sold out almost immediately. The game is still available in PDF format on Monte Cook Games’ website, albeit at an MSRP of $99.00.
The Invisible Sun: Return of the Black Cube campaign actually addresses concerns of production and freight. It states that the company is holding the line on the price of the original Black Cube and Vislae Kit products. Both will retain the price of their 2018 printing.

- Access the Noösphere for $153: PDFs of all six supplements for Invisible Sun, including The Wellspring.
- Expand into the Actuality for $232: Physical copies and PDFs of all six supplements for Invisible Sun, including The Wellspring.
- Invoke The Black Cube for $252: A physical copy and PDF of Invisible Sun and The Wellspring supplement.
- Walk The Paths of Suns for $481: Physical Copies and PDFs of Invisible Sun and all six supplements, including The Wellspring
It must be noted that these prices do not take into account shipping costs.
At the time of writing, Invisible Sun: Return of the Black Cube has already met its crowdfunding goal of $100,000. The campaign concludes on November 17.
