As Overwatch 2 Season 6 is nearing its conclusion, fans eagerly await the exciting content the next season has in store. To further build the excitement for Season 7, Overwatch 2 recently released a fascinating teaser video, confirming its upcoming collaboration with the online action RPG, Diablo IV. This exciting crossover is expected to be the highlight of Overwatch 2’s Season 7: Rise of Darkness, which is set to launch on October 10th.
Just last week, speculations about an upcoming collaboration with Diablo 4 began circulating as a potential Overwatch 2 Season 7 leak surfaced on Reddit. The information came to light through a screenshot during one of content creator bogur’s livestreams. The image depicts a new map, a new Hanzo Mythic skin, and Lilith of Diablo 4.
The alleged leak further reveals that the new map is called Tupua, with a description stating that Widowmaker and Echo are getting new skins alongside Hanzo’s Mythic skin. Meanwhile, the Diablo 4 crossover details are mostly obscured but a fragment of the description indicates that players will have to “defeat Lilith.” Today, Overwatch 2 has put the speculations to rest as it finally confirms the Diablo 4 crossover in the new teaser trailer, prominently showcasing Lilith towards the end of the video.
Interestingly, this is not the first time that Diablo IV collaborated with a first-person shooter franchise as they just had a crossover with Modern Warfare 2 last week. As such, a collaboration with Overwatch 2 is not out of the question.
With the recent teaser trailer confirming the upcoming Diablo IV collaboration, it is likely that the other leaked details about Season 7 may also hold true. However, Overwatch 2 has yet to confirm the reliability of these claims.
In any case, fans can look forward to more revelations and announcements when the official trailer for Overwatch 2 Season 7: Rise of Darkness premieres on October 5th.
